We all know how this movie ends as we've seen it every time we pass Maidenhead on the M4.
1st half we were superb and played some brilliant football.
Billy scored yet another screamer and we should have been 3 - 0 up at half time.
Always worrying when you don't take advantage of your domination.
2nd half started evenly with neither side looking like scoring until we concede the almost obligatory soft goal from a long throw that none of the home team players claimed.
Up until 70 mins the game was without incident. Unfortunately it appeared that the truth serum the officials had been injected with had worn off and they realised that it was time to spin the M4 wheel of misfortune which always seems to end up on 'Screw over Harrow'
Linesman becomes flag happy whenever we went within a few feet of their left back and a couple of very dubious and late offside decisions go against us.
Not wanting to be left out of the limelight the ref gives Swindon a soft free kick from which we don't defend well and Swindon take an undeserved lead.
Boro keep pressing forward searching for a deserved equaliser. Boro player clattered midway inside our own half. Whistle goes, every Swindon player retreats into their own half to defend the free kick only to find that the ref has actually awarded them a free kick.
This was just the warm up act for the main event of the ineptitude show..
Third minute of injury time and a Boro free kick is hoisted into the box. Imran runs past his marker to meet the ball and the most blatant two handed, forceful push in the back sends him flying onto the turf.
The whole ground waiting for the ref to blow and point to the spot. But he shakes his head and waves play on.
Yellow flagged and bellied linesman who had been only too keen to award the home side numerous soft free kicks looks at the floor and keeps his flag down.
Ref blows for full time a few seconds later and a plethora of yellow cards shown to the Boro coaching staff for telling the officials a few home(r) truths.
A display of officiating so incompetent that the ref and his yellow flagged friend will surely get a chance to join the government at ministerial level later this week.
Should have had the points in the bag by half time but we still deserved at least a point.
At least we don't have to go down the M4 again until... Oh s**t...
