Although I’m missing my football fix already I am a little concerned for what’s to come.Yes as someone mentioned in a previous thread there is a bit of dick wagging going on with regards to players signing & yes you effectively can’t sign up to anything until forms are released in July.
However Non-league is a different animal now & unfortunately due to finances now available many clubs are getting players through the door already. They basically reach agreement on monies & the signing of a club contract so as players don’t go looking elsewhere. It’s just how it’s being done now.Money talks players get offers they’ve never had before & take what’s on offer now rather than risk leaving it too late & not getting what they want as budgets get bigger.
We’ll lose our best players if they don’t have contact from someone at the club..,,,and I’m not talking management….The up shot is you get left with the also ran players a bit like last year….many of who were not upto it.If, this is not doable then the other option is to get someone in early doors to try and cherry pick the best of a division below along with young talent, to get off on the right foot.
I’ve watched teams crumble over time & I think when we look back we all know clubs that this happened to.
Here’s hoping we’re not on that slow painful decline.
I also note there is no response as to who we’re likely to keep.,.not one player has stated “see you next season after a rest & go again”
Is the club not trying its hardest to give fans an idea of who we can hope to see next season.Bloom, Kelmendi, Harry, Gurteen surely must all be top of the list regardless of what manager is in the hot seat. I wish we knew something.
After all fan interest & fan engagement is the biggest part of any club.Maybe it’s time for big change & let a new bread come in. I only wish I was 45 & not 75….id throw back to good times past….when things were less financial, simple, & more about character(s). Anyways let’s hope we know what players are staying & which chap is taking over NOW to give him & the club a chance of survival next season.
Good luck,,Charles 👍🏻
