Hmm!
Pedants' corner: it's 46 games.
Hereford isn't a fair comparison really, is it? Salisbury's is what they got last year in their title procession and it's not much higher than some past seasons. I glanced at the gates for the SSW division a few weeks back. The only thing that struck me was Tiverton, who've had a good season, having 260. That's a heck of a lot less than they got 10-15 years back when 600 was the norm, though it is seemingly up from 200 last term. Nothing else looked impressive, with the possible exception of Taunton - a club I know shag-all about.
A better yardstick would be the "Jez We Can!" / Tuscany / Up the 'RA / Brigate Rosse / Save the Gay Whales / Free Gaza / "Right-thinking" / Beardie-Weirdie bunch who will hopefully get stuffed by Enfield Town tomorrow night.
Borough possibly got a few more points than the budget strictly merited and finished about where the budget said they would, having overachieved slightly for quite a while.
As for the direction the club is going, well, that's the same direction as almost all London non-league clubs and most non-league clubs in large conurbations: precisely nowhere if they are lucky. Struggling to tread water is the zenith of just about everyone's ambitions.... unless some deranged loon or socially dysfunctional oddball, with far more money than sense, arrives to "invest" in the club.
