First all l know l can speak on behalf of all fans in wishing Ryan Moss all the best at obviously a difficult time.
Also good to see Ryan Haugh yesterday albeit on crutches
Hes a top fella l know we all wish him a speedy recovery.
As for the match many good signs.
We played More Direct.
We got Stuck in well in midfield.Passing a Lot better and on the whole crosses were of a high standard.
Obviously work been done in training thats excellent!
The first half we dominated Frank Keita unlucky to hit the post and many good chances created through good crosses.
Second half Merthyr came out with some Fight and Passion as you would expect from the Welsh!
We were under the Cosh as they say.
But we held firm and a bit Like the Alamo our goal wasnt to be breached.
If you Like we won a Bit Ugly because Last year thats the type of game we may have easily drawn or Lost with the Sustained Pressure we were under in the Second half
I noticed when George Fenton came on he was excellent at geeing the guys up and demanding more.
Thats excellent.l know was Captain in a warm up game and l know we have in Shaun and Adam 2 outstanding Centre halves so l think Georges Leadership skills are so important a place must be find for him to start.
Maybe in midfield as a ball winner!
So l would say 9/10 for todays performance. As for the winning goal l thought Jordan Ireland but most fans think Micheal Bryan but all that matters is it went in the net!
Most Importantly all the Slow Stuff from the back now Binned and Lets get as many fans as poss to go to Hayes+Yeading on Tuesday night and beat them on their Fancy 3G pitch!
So Come On You Reds!
Nearly forgot Micheal Bryan Man of the Match and the Merthyr fans Very Friendly l hope they had a good journey back to Wales.Being Irish l have to say that about our fellow Celts if thats ok!
