friendlies

After two 3-1 victories we should be happy at this stage. 25 players have appeared so far, nobody has played a full match yet. Most of last seasons squad are still with us , a number of impressive new recruits too. A couple of additions are still due , while some will of course be released before the season starts for real. I think we will be a decent side this season, we have a tough opening set of league fixtures , so we should know in the first month if we can match the big hitters.

That's a big shout middx wanderer! It sounds as though you are confident we can put together a play-off push. The only thing that worries me is that top players can leave instantly. Once a player puts in a few impressive performances a bigger club comes calling and off he goes. Remember that Italian guy we had who moved onto Lewes after only a few games.

any names of players that have been on trial and have looked impressive?
we only have 5 pre season friendlies. with the amount of trialists, it doesn't seem like enough games to me.

I think it will all come together by Saturday. I am not sure who has defiantly signed , but yes I am confident we will be in the top half this season. May be I am being optimistic , but in the summers of 2009 & 2010, we kept most of the team for the following season with a few good additions . I feel this is a similar situation , we know we can be competitive with last seasons team , a few good signings & we will be a decent side.

Ronnel Dennis - Former Palace youth striker and Sutton United. Looks like a young strong striker. Should add to Akinola, Griffiths and Bola.
Terrell Lewis - From Chalfont St Peter but also had a one year spell at Chesterfield in 2009/10 after impressing on trial. Went back to Chalfont after then. Seems like a right winger. Should give us good options with Shaun Lucien too. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terrell_Lewis
Adam Louth - Also from Chalfont St Peter. Looks like a left sided player who can score goals. Believe he was captain for them. www.aylesburyunitedfc.co.uk/players/adam-louth

Terrell Lewis

Just looking on Wikipedia and the BBC Sport site and it seems that he only made one competitive appearence for Chesterfield coming on in the 94th minute. If he doesn't end up back in the Football League before his career ends then that must be some sort of record. He's literally got a few seconds of football league experience under his belt and he probably didn't even touch the ball.
