Goalkeeper - Max Oberschmidt, played well, made some good saves. apparently going to join on loan from Fulham for the season. www.fulhamfc.com/the-teams/u18s/player-profiles/max-oberschmidt. Interview --> www.fulhamfc.com/kids-zone/through-the-ranks/max-oberschmidt Supposedly a lot of promise but for injuries. Not sure if he will be first choice or cover for Warrington.
Right back - Familiar faces of James Regis for an hour and Michael Barima to replace him.
Centre Backs - Danny Leech and Michael Peacock. You know what you are getting from them two. Leech was replaced by someone whose name I didn't catch. He played well enough but looked a little inexperienced. An area we probably still need to improve/cover.
Left Backs - Garry Jones who was up and down as always. Replaced with about 15 minutes to go by new signing Adam Louth who didn't have too much to do defensively or attacking.
Right wing - Rhys Murrell-Williamson (Ex Palace and Sutton United). Looked very raw but was a good dribbler. Perhaps lacked the final ball but attacked at every opportunity. Good potential. Was replaced by Terrel Lewis with 20 minutes to go who looked to attack too.
Central Midfield - Jordan Berry and Kevant Serbonji. Berry looked good again, especially alongside his Serbonji who got stuck in and looked to win the ball and make a forward pass. Sankoh came on in the second half. No Wolleaston though. The other substitute in this position didn't have much of an impact.
Left Wing - Shaun Lucien, his usual self, very bright, wanted to get on the ball a lot. Was replaced late on by another player who didn't make too much of an impact.
Strikers - Leroy Griffiths and Chris Benjamin (Ex Leyton Orient and Sutton United). Griffiths played the first 45 minutes and got 2 goals. Looked very experienced, wore captains armband and took his two goals well enough. Chris Benjamin looked very busy and missed an easy chance in the first half but created some other good opportunities and got on the scoresheet in the 2nd half. Simeon Akinola came on at half time and looked good enough. Another tall striker came on late on and held the ball up well and had a bit of pace about him too. No Vences Bola or Ronnel Dennis to see.

Lots of promise. Hopefully on Tuesday we will use less players , more play for most or all the match, against a side that should offer similar opposition to that we play against in the league

we certainly seem to have more of a goal threat than last season

Griffiths & Akinola could be as affective as Baptiste & Hewitt. I'm looking forward to seeing them together.
