Harrow vs Billericay

Team Lineup: Oberschmidt, Barima Leech Peacock Jones, Sankoh Serbonji Berry, Akinola Benjamin Griffiths.

Surprised at no Lucien, who came on at HT and made a good impact.

First half: Not too much goal action and possession was about 50/50 although we had about 7 corners (most of which were poorly delivered) compared to their one, which was beautifully delivered and easily headed in.

Second half: Much better, the final ball was a lot better and in reality we should have won. Akinola shooting wide under pressure although through on goal and then Chris Benjamin somehow screwing over from about 3 yards out with the goal at his mercy. He nearly made up for it with a great header which hit the bar and bounced on the line. The game turned very intense and feisty after that and Lucien scored a quality free kick to earn us a draw.

A point was the least we deserved and I thought it was a really encouraging performance!

Spot on, we are looking a very capable side. Kevant Serbonij impressed me a lot. Akinola was very good too.

A good point where we definately deserved more. Thought Griffiths and Sankoh were our best playerss on the day but all generally did well. Not sure what happened for their goal but the defence seemed to fall asleep. Max looked very good in goal and seemed pretty confident on crosses. Fingers crossed for a much better than average season. COYR.

You can see in the highlights that for their goal, nobody even attempted to mark the goalscorer. We should have definitely got 3 points yesterday what with the open goal miss, hitting woodwork twice and Akinola missing on a couple of occasions when through.

How would you compare that performance against the 4-1 win against Thurrock on the opening day last season?
