2-0 to wingate seems like a solid win but I thought we were generally unlucky. Dominated first half, Peacock missed a good header, same with Akinola who was also denied by a clearance off the line after beating the keeper.

Wingate actually posed a threat 2nd half and went 1 up after a shot hit both posts and they managed to get the rebound. We hit the post 3 times, first Danny Leech with a header and then Gareth Chendlik hitting both posts with a volley but nobody managed to get there in time to score the rebound. Also a good shout for a penalty before they immediately scored their 2nd goal.

It comes down to taking our chances again. Started the season playing similar to this but not scoring when we needed too. If we could find the back of the net with the chances we have created, we would probably be 6 points better off and still in the cup.

Today was further proof that we cannot take a game to weaker side. Decent first half but not enough attempts on goal. When Finchley have a shoot that hits both posts a forward follows up & taps in , we have a shot that hits both posts , nobody anywhere near it. We just cannot play on the front foot. Terrible substitution when Murrell-Williams went off when clearly Dennis (who needs to get to the gym before our next match) should have gone off

Unfortunately football is all about fine margins. They are the things that decide the majority of matches.

Our inability to hit the target in open play is actually quite shocking. Dennis has bit more about him than Benjamin but neither haved looked like players who will be a success at this level any time soon. Neither have any awareness in the box , hence when we hit the woodwork or the keeper fumbles, it is always cleared

Thought best player on the pitch was the W & F right back - a certain Ola Williams. Despite his discipline issues he usually gave 100% when playing for us last season. Believe we are missing him! Could play in midfield and right back. So far DA as our manager has not had a player leave and then come back - from memory. On yesterdays Saturdays showing would personally wish he was the first!

Williams is a better right back than any of the players that have worn the 2 shirt this season.
JJ Bates left & came back, perhaps Williams could a first successful return.
Williams task was made easier by the nonsensical swapping of our wingers. Lucian is a decent right sided player, but Average left sided,he takes far too many touches on his left side & is not direct enough to hurt the full back

Unfortunately Williams suffers from the Red mist at times, hence why Anderson didn't keep him. I think he was probably correct to release him,but sadly he has failed to find anything like a replacement

Ola Williams did NOT get released, he left us.

and i only remember one incident when he lost his cool and that was at carshalton away. he is a very good player and a player i rated at the club its a shame our reporter painted him in a bad way. you can tell when ever he played he showed heart and desire to WIN.

im sure some of the players read the match reports and it cant be good for confidence if they read something negative about themselves. however it might also make them determined to be better. I thought Williams was a good player for us although he had his moments. think he shined when moved into midfield last season making breaking runs to join the attack

As I mentioned a few weeks ago, I find the match reports far too depressing when we are on a bad run. I almost cringe when I read them. It's as if all is lost and there is no hope. The match reports can sometimes be very critical of some of the individual players. Whether any of the players actually read the reports is another matter. When I played sunday league I always went on to our website to read the match report.
