Interesting at the bottom

Despite winning yesterday, results didn't really go our way with Thamesmead amd East Thurrock winning plus Enfield Town getting a point. It's a good job we won our last two games otherwise we'd have been right in it. It looked as though it was going to be East Thurrock and Enfield battling it out to avoid going down but they are both on good form. Even Thamesmead could stay up but yesterdays win was probably too little too late for them as they have so few games left. Ironically after we beat Hampton 3-2 not too long ago, on their match report they said that defeat ended their play-off hopes but if they don't watch out, they are going to be in a relegation fight.

we can probably rule out Cray, Carshalton or Thamesmead catching us. Its then most likely 1 from 5, Enfield, Wingate, East Thurrock, us and possibly Hampton (Bottom of form table). Hampton have picked up 4 points from their last 8 games, 3 against Bury, who hadn't won a game in 9 until yesterday, and 1 from a draw with Cray.
Those 5 teams fixtures against each other still to come:
Hampton v East Thurrock
Hampton v Enfield
East Thurrock v Boro
Wingate v Enfield
Enfield v East Thurrock
Still lots of points guaranteed to be dropped by teams around us.

Cray and W&Finchley ended in 2-2 yesterday. Cray equalised late in the game so helped us. Good win Saturday - deserved to win by more. Team kept going for the whole game. They got better once Kinch { ex Tonbridge Angels} came on for them. Luckily only on for 15 mins or so. We still have a tough run. 2 wins without conceding has helped. Must keep up the good work. Marc Charles- Smith did very well Saturday and took his goals well.

It's really difficult to call. I can't see Enfield Town who are managed by George Borg going down. He's a very experienced manager at this level and will do enough to keep them up. East Thurrock have certainly improved from nowhere. Whether they will be able to keep it up is another matter. It wouldn't surprise me if Wingate were the ones to drop. I'm pretty sure we're gonna be okay but we're by no means out of it yet especially with the good form of ETU and Enfield. Give it another week or two and I'll start planning for next season, so by that I mean I will try and find 4 teams that are likely to finish below us. Usually some of the promoted teams struggle especially from Ryman North.

Our match at East Thurrock could be very important, but our record against teams just below us is terrible, so its more likely we will get the points to see us safe against the likes of Hornchurch.

Think after our friends from Ruislip beating East Thurrock tonight we are pretty safe. We should now start looking upwards and hopefully finish above Margate, Bury and Lewes. We are currently sitting well in the form tables - especially last 8 at home! Saturday will be a tough match with the return of Ruddock now playing at Grays.COYR.

I reckon we can win 3 of our last 6 games. well done to Wealdstone, effectively champions. I'm sure they can keep climbing the non league ladder. Will Hendon be ground sharing with us again next season? Lessens the impact of losing a large home gate vs wealdstone
