FA Cup progress!

I listened to the game courtesy of Harrow Community Radio via the internet and even heard the post match interview from Dave Anderson. So well done to HCR for the great service provided.

It sounded like we were the better team and deserved to progress although we maybe did make harder work of it than we should have done.

I've done my research for the teams still in it. Obviously in the next round all the Conference Premier clubs join. There will be the usual North/South split and it's really unlikely that we'll play a club from a lower division than us and also unlikely we'll get drawn against a team from our own level.

From what I can see the teams in the south from a lower level are:

Willand Rovers (2 divisions below us)
Greenwich Borough (2 divisions below us but playing tomorrow)
Shortwood United (1 division below but have a replay)
Evesham United (1 division below)
Burgess Hill Town (1 divison below)
Redhill (1 division below but playing Greenwich tomorrow so they can't both go through!)

There aren't many teams from our own level left. Apart from us all I can make out is:

Dorchester, Weymouth and Frome (depending on their replay) all from the Southern Premier.

Witham, Canvey Island, East Thurrock, Kingstonian (playing tomorrow) and Grays (depending on their replay).

Probably not a draw many of us would have wanted. Neither below us in league structure or in the conference. They currently sit top of the conf south and although we do tend to do better as underdogs, this will be a tough game. They play Wealdstone away in the league, a week before our cup game.

Who does everybody want to draw in this round? Lower ranked teams? One from the same level or a bigger conference side?

Personally think that this round is one where you just want to get through rather than drawing barnet or a bigger conference side. always like to play teams we haven't played before so I would pick Willand Rovers at home (rather long away trip).

Full credit to all involved a massive result for the club. Not A vintage performance but by far the better side. Waltham's keeper made some outstanding saves.

If you are looking for a quick payday rather than progress Barnet would be a good draw.

I don't think anyone sees the 4th qualifying round as their "big day out". It's all about getting through it and having your "big day out" in the 1st round against a League 1 or 2 team although I persoanlly would prefer to keep drawing the lesser teams to have more of a chance of progressing as far as possible. I remember a number of years ago we got drawn against Hereford United at home in the 4th qualifying round. They were top of the conference. They battered us at Earlsmead 6-1 with Abdulai Yoki getting our goal. I don't fancy a repeat of that!

Greenwich Borough beat Redhill today. I would be happy with them at home in the next round.
But I am delighted we are in the 4th qualifying round, so anyone home or away is fine.

WIth Hendon groundsharing, a decent sponsor, fa cup run money, transfer money from Akinola deal and apparently a grant from the football foundation things must be looking good for the club?
