Defence is the problem

Looking at your 'goals for and against' record it is clear Borough would be a mid-table team if it were not for the poor defensive record. What is the management doing to rectify this obvious problem ?

Personally, I believe relegation to the Southern Div 1 Central Divn would be a blessing for H.B. allowing the club to enjoy the cost savings and income benefits of about 10 relatively 'local' fixtures and the fans to actiually start enjoying their football again.
What do others think ?

Its clear we have let in too many goals. So have lost too many games. But in my view its the lack of ability at the other end of the pitch that's the real problem. We lose possession very easily. Create little. Our captaincentre forward who is more about appealing for free kicks than actually winning the ball.A Full International winger who never goes forward or crosses the ball. A management team that can only set a team up to play on the counter attack so we Never beat any teams at the bottom of the league. Just pick up points frastrasting the better teams.
I think relegation would be a disaster for the club. Possibly even the beginning of the end of it.

The centre backs we have seem to be pretty good. Maissiat, Peacock and even Otira and Sonuga played really well against Basingstoke. Full backs have often been a problem but yes, upfront we don't keep hold of the ball. Lucien and Akinola both big losses

Terrific 0-1 away win at Kingstonian - maybe the manager has started to fix the problem !

Best League performance for a long while. The backbone of the team, Jupp Peacock Sonuga Odametey & Long were outstanding but everyone stepped up to the plate. The tactics gave them license to get some width & the rare site of a Harrow Borough cross was spotted on more than one occasion. The goal was a corner routine that worked perfectly. Charles-Smith stepped over the ball leaving it for Salatapas to finish with a cracking shot.
McCluskey did well & along with MCS, Bryan & Salatapas kept possesion of the ball much better.

Great win Saturday and well deserved. Team were under a lot of pressure to perform. Good to see MCS getting more support up front with all the new signings doing reasonably well. Weather conditions did not help us second half. I believe that Peacock has been missed very much during his time away - defence looks much better with him - and league results seem to suggest this as well.

Very impressed with the signings of Carl McCluskey and Jerome Walker. Alongside the return of Lewis Driver, I feel like we really pose a threat going forward again.

Jerome Walker was getting better & better at the end of 2010-11, before departing with Dave Howell. He had an excellent game against us for Dulwich last year too. If he can regain that form ( so far he looks like he can)he will be a great addition. Carl McCluskey is a very good player at Ryman Prem level. He WILL improve our team. Two from McCluskey, Driver & Charles-Smith will pose real problems for defences. Two from Walker , Salatapas & English will offer genuine pace wide. We have an outstanding goalkeeper & with Peocock available along with numerous injuries clearing up with our defenders, we can now get our season up & running.

He's a superb player. Can play pretty much anywhere - in the middle of the park, out wide, off the front man, as a target man, even not bad at centre half. I was really sorry when he left us in January to go to Wealdstone. Should be a real asset for you - more so than Michael Bryan.

He's a good player too. We had him on loan from Barnet a couple of years and he was comfortable at centre half or left back. Signed him permanently at the beginning of last season, but he couldn't break into the side and so left for Enfield Town.
