Great win but still not safe!

Vital win today beating Kingstonian 2-0. We're by no means safe yet due to VCD winning and Peacehaven salvaging a point. A point will be enough against Leatherhead, however if we lose we could be in real trouble. The four teams below us in the dog fight all have winnable games. Canvey, VCD and Lewes would all need just a point and Peacehaven would need to win to send us down. I just hope the players realise the job isn't done yet and do what is needed against Leatherhead, The signs are good though!

Agreed. A good win, important points. Just a shame Peacehaven managed a point otherwise we would have pretty much been safe. Come on Boro, one more push!

Hi, Just dropped in from the Leatherhead forum to assure you that you are safe and do not need a point on Saturday!
The club in the 1st relegation place with the best PPG will receive a reprieve because of Salisbury's demise.
Currently Peacehaven have a ppg of 1.06 and Stamford 1.04 ( The Evo stik Southern club will be relegated)
On the last day, Stamford 47pts are at home to Witton Albion on 49 pts, so they cannot both obtain 50 points, in effect ALL RYMAN CLUBS ON 50 POINTS ARE SAFE. If Peacehaven lose or draw they might be relegated depending on the result from Stamford and it could come down to goal difference.
Complicated isn't it?

I was planning on asking about how the Conference South being a team down, affected relegation at our level. Its a relief to know that we have put ourselves in such a strong position and ultimately we will be safe because of this, however, a good result on Saturday is important to secure it, and not be waiting around for the league and FA to clarify.

Yes I knew that, well not all the details you gave but I knew that 4th bottom is unlikely to go down because of the Salisbury situation. Still better to be safe than sorry! Maybe you're hoping that we just roll over and die on Saturday!

Don't rely on the FA , as Enfield have found out this week. A point on Saturday. Then we can enjoy two Cup Finals. & start planning g for next season.
As Staines & Farnborough have been relegated from Conf south we should not even have to wait to find out if they are shifting any Ryman Clubs to the Southern League this year

Next season is very intriguing. Whatever happens, you'd expect the club will want to keep Baker after his superb job. He has talked about keeping certain players and believing he can bring in others to improve the team. Will his 'budget' if we stay up, be the same as what Anderson had or was that a one season only kind of deal. He seems to have built a really good spirit within the team and looks like he can get the most out of the players!
