Out the cup

Gutted to be out the cup already. According to Twitter it sounded as if we were the dominant team but lost our way as the second half went on. It all sounds a bit Dave Anderson-esque. Similar to a few years ago when we somehow lost in a replay to North Greenford with a very winnable tie against Clacton for the winners in the next round. Same again last night. We would have fancied our chances against Didcot.

Yes totally dominated the game besides the last 20 minutes. Marc Charles-Smith twice had the ball in the net but was offside. Lewis Driver also had an early shot blocked on the line. We had many more shots blocked but didn't really create too many clear chances besides when MCS went through and shot wide of the post. The midfield looked tired in the last 20 minutes and could have done with a change in central midfield but George McCluskey had cramp near the end and so they had to change him. Connor French didn't offer much upfront when he came on for MCS. Can understand why they brought on and used Jack Waldren at left midfield but at 0-0, found it strange they didn't go attacking with Dylan Cascoe on the bench. Anyway, back to the league, with a trip to Needham Market. They are yet to win from their opening 9 league games, drawing 4 and losing 5. Last night they were dumped out of the FA Cup at Stanway Rovers, 3-0, of the Eastern Counties League Premier Division. Hopefully we can get back on track on Saturday and get a cup run going in the Trophy.

Unfortunately Dillon Cascoe was injured after failing a fitness test and although named on the bench he wasn't fit enough to come on.

I would like to see Conner French take a fitness test , as i think most of our supporters are more mobile!
Overall I felt sorry for the team as we were so dominant in the first half, If only a few players had taken shots rather than an extra touch.
One other thing I noticed , how many times did Lewis Driver slip over ? Get some proper football boots asap

It was an unfortunate result, on another night I feel we would have won quite comfortably.
