Margate Match

2-2.

In the end a decent result, puts us in the draw for the 1st round proper on Monday night and gives us another crack at qualifying on Tuesday night. Margate are a decent side, but we were only trailing due to unforced errors. The opening goal was a clanger. Ochoa, playing at left back, in hindsight should have just put the ball out for a throw. Its always risky with a pass back to the keeper and they capitalised from his mistake. I thought we played well overall but struggled with the ball over the top. Once again undone for the second as Webb and Preddie both left it to each other and Williams was unlucky in my opinion as I wasn't sure there was much contact from where I was standing. Thought we really battled hard though and more than deserved the equaliser. Peacock could have put us into the 1st round if he hadn't gone for so much power in the last minute from 10 yards out but all in all a good performance. They will really have the home support on Tuesday but that didn't harm Boro at Dulwich a few weeks ago. Another 100% effort on Tuesday, minimise the mistakes and we have a good chance.

There was a lot of height in our team today, feel that gave us a good advantage at set pieces. It may be the way to go again on Tuesday. Think we can expose their backline with a few more through balls for Meite to get after. MCS wasn't as his best but hard to see Driver getting into the team upfront even though he scored.

Agree with everything u said there Red Harrow. It was a good effort from Boro, fully deserved the draw and possibly could have nicked it at the end.
I also thought the penalty was a bit harsh but as u say we gave the Margate player the opportunity to go down.
Still don't know how Harrow didn't score from that goalmouth scramble at the end of the 1st half.
Lewis also unlucky with his shot on to the post and also a shame Ibrahim couldn't get on to any through balls or stuff put over the top for him to run on to.
Great to dream in the draw on Monday, but we must show that "Dulwich Hamlet 4-1" sprit to give ourselves a chance in the replay.
Definitely going to go to the replay on Tuesday, it's gonna be very tough but C'mon Boro ! We can do it.

But for a couple of individual errors we would be in the 1st round now. The penalty looked an obvious dive, but credit to the team for coming back twice.
No reason not to be confident going into the replay.

There was me thinking that we were gonna do an Arsenal in 2014 and win the FA Cup without leaving London!

I'm sure we're still confident of completing the job.

I hope plans will be in place so that we get there in good timing bearing in mind we have to go around the M25 on a weekday late afternoon. The delay in getting to Merstham may have been a reason for such a poor performance and 5-0 defeat.
