Northampton Town Tips

I have been on to the Northampton Town fans forum and asked about some recommendations for pubs/restaurants etc on the day of the game.

Sixfields Stadium is about a 2 mile walk from Northampton Town station for those going by train. For those going by coach/car to the stadium complex, you are in a retail park of sorts.

Here are some tips from Northampton Town fans:

'You've got the Black Lion to the left as you come out of the station and then turning right towards Sixfields you've got the Becket, Foundry and Sevens at 5 minute walking intervals en route to the ground. It's a pretty handy pub crawl actually.'

'Also think Carrs Bar under the main stand (to the right of main entrance, can't miss the sign) will probably admit away fans for this one.

'Loads of restaurants on Sixfields itself. TGI's, Frankie & Bennys, Chiquitos. Loads of choice.'

'The Market Tavern on Fish Street, then the Albion Brewery at the bottom of Bridge Street for a taste of Northampton. Then take a taxi to the Sevens, 5 mins walk from Sixfields then the Walter Tull at Sixfields.'

'Thomas a Becket easily best pub on the Weedon Rd (in my opinion). Out of the station, turn right (towards Sixfields). First pub you come to after a 3-5 min walk. Good choice of real ales, SKY TV and outside pub, any Daventry bound bus from bus stop will take you straight to Sixfields...or the rest of the pubs and a 20 min walk.'

If any Boro fans know Northampton at all, please post any tips on this thread.

Going up on the train with a few of the guys . Looking forward it .
Can we make history and progress to the 2nd round for only the second time in our history?
Who knows, but the lads have got to be up for this one , who knows when they will get a chance to perform on a stage like this again ?
What I do know is that if they play like they did at Margate, focus 100% and importantly have the right attitude, ride our luck a little we've got a great chance.
C'mon you Reds !
The fans are right behind you.

Whatever happens it will be a great day out. We will need a defensive masterclass accompanied by a few breaks at the other end for Meite & Driver then who knows.

Just Enjoy the Day. This IS our cup final. COYRs
