A good win away! Team obviously playing with confidence. Couldn't get there today but will eagerly be awaiting the draw for the next round. Alot of catching up in the league for us to do!

Yes, 1-2 away at Needham certainly not to be sniffed at.
There won't be to many teams who will go up there and get a result this season.

We've now won 6 games in the two national cup competitions (so far). Does anyone know the last time we achieved that feat? I was also going to ask if anyone knew how long it had been since we got this far in the FA Trophy as we always lose in the first ot second round that we enter but that question has been answered in the Needham Market match report!

I wonder how worried we should be about only having played 13 league games (joint lowest with Tonbridge). We are still in all the cups apart from the FA Cup. I'm sure there will be plenty of postponements ahead as well due to the weather! I guess it's the leagues problem as to how they deal with it but ultimately it will be our problem if we end up having to play 3 games in a week.

The last time won 6 FA competition games in a season was
1993/94. FA Trophy beat Uxbridge, Borehamwood (in a Replay), Wealdstone (in a Replay), then lost at Worcester City in a Replay.
In the FA Cup beat Wealdstone, Viking Sports & Chertsey Town before losing to VS Rugby (in a Replay),

The only time we have won more was 1982/83. When reaching the Trophy Semi final having started in the first qualify round. Wembley 3-2, Wellingborough Town 3-2, Chelmsford 2-1 (in a Replay), Bromley 2-0, Sutton United 4-1, Barrow 2-0 (in a 2nd Replay after twice drawing 1-1), Enfield 5-1, Semi 1st leg beat Telford 2-0, lost 2nd leg 5-1 after extra time.
We also beat Letchworth in the FA Cup before losing to Feltham.

Thanks for that Middx Wanderer. Very interesting. Good to know that in 93/94 we knocked out Wealdstone in both cups!

Anybody you fancy in the next round? I presume it's still split regionally at this stage.

Biggleswade Town/Hitchin Town
North Leigh
Dulwich Hamlet
Leiston
Marine/St Neots
Kingstonian/Tonbridge Angels
Wingate & Finchley
AFC Sudbury
Hastings United/South Park
Winchester City
Havant & Waterlooville
Frome Town
Stocksbridge Park
Basingstoke Town
Shaw Lane
St Ives Town
Hednesford Town/Stafford Rangers
Grantham Town/Matlock Town
Farsley Celtic
Taunton Town
Mickleover Sports
Kings Langley
Weymouth
AFC Rushden & Diamonds/Lincoln United
Witton Albion
Worthing
Ramsbottom United/Redditch United
Brightlingsea Regent/Harlow Town
Burgess Hill Town/Chalfont St Peter
Merstham/Hythe Town

Kings Langley would be a manageable away day. Wouldn't mind home games against Hastings/South Park, North Leigh or Winchester City again! Obviously the Conference South/North teams come in too. Wealdstone anybody?

I've had to do my research on the FA Trophy as to which teams join in which rounds. It's such unchartered territory for us that I've never really known how each round works. It must still be North/South for this upcoming round. I wonder when it becomes national though. I'd quite like Margate again. They are in trouble financially and have lost a few players since we last played them. We could really rub it in against them. I guess that's a bit mean of me. I've got nothing against Margate. If I was still in the UK, I'd fancy a trip to the west country for a change, maybe to somewhere like Taunton or Frome.
