Come on you Reds!
Boro 1 Gulls 1
Went to Earlsmead to see Boro put in a frustrating performance against Canvey Island today.
I thought Gulls looked nervous at the start and we're there for the taking but they went ahead with a soft goal, a cross came in and it was a free header at the back post , 1-0 Canvey.
But Harrow got back into the game quickly and a few minutes later Steve Brown scored from close range. 1-1
Canvey should have gone in at HT in front but a save and great clearance off the bar by Brown meant it was still 1-1.
A lot of huff and puff in a scrappy second half but it remained 1-1 although I feel a stronger side than Canvey would have beaten us.
Still a points a point and Gulls didn't make any ground up on us.
Got to be better against Staines next Saturday and of course it's the team who longer play in Harrow on Tuesday in cup.

Re: Boro 1 Gulls 1
Agree it was a good point won,. But Canvey were possibly the poorest side we have played in a league match h this season. We were very slow in our attacking movements & almost kamakazi in our defending
Re: Boro 1 Gulls 1
I thought we were lucky to get a point. We had a good spell for 20 minutes in the first half but thought we were pretty average for the rest of the game. Not sure why the formation changed to 532. Perhaps it was a perceived weakness that Canvey were poor against it or was to shore up our own defence. We never really looked in too much trouble at the back but the lack of wingers getting forward hindered us. I was surprised that we didn't make a substitution, especially in the second half when we were not playing well. I was really hoping Babalola and Newman would get on for the last 20 minutes and we would chase the game but a point is okay. It kept Canvey at bay and i think the only team to win around us were Met Police. Sahr Kabba was missed. Good to know that hes back on loan for another month but unfortunately injured yesterday, Could have really done with his pace upfront.
