Come on you Reds!
Ibraham Meite or Sahr Kabba
On the train home on Saturday there were many discussions of what was good & not so about the team this season. Opinion was strong that while we had either Ibraham Meite or Sahr Kabba in the side we had a real goal threat. Without them, the build up was too slow & we had very few chances.
I have just had a look look at the line ups for the 14 league matches we won.
One or other played in 12 of the victories . The only two teams we beat without them were Grays Athletic (kabba was an unused Sub) & AFC Sudbury. The bottom two Clubs.
Along with Joshua Webb playing a holding roll rather than a creative one, these were seen as the major changes that drastically effected our fortunes.
Re: Ibraham Meite or Sahr Kabba
Yes , I thought/think Ibe has got the makings to be a great player. Probably only be down to himself now wether he can stay focused and work hard to achieve it.
He was so quick and got loads of our goals really out of nothing , won balls he's should never have won and I think a lot of defenders thought this guy looks as though he can be knocked off the ball easily enough, but he was surprisingly for his frame very strong and rarely got knocked of the ball.
The goals he scored at Dulwich Hamlet (they might still be up on You Tube) were great examples of this, of course their are many more examples.
We missed him big time when he went (IMO) what he was like in the dressing room or what he was like to manage I have no idea.
But I think we all knew he was and should go on to greater things .
