Michael Peacock leaving

Very disappointing news that Michael Peacock is leaving , great centre back with a terrific attitude. He will be missed.
He is unable to commit to every Saturday & mid week away matches due to work commitments

Yeah that's not good news from a HBFC perspective.
Wish him well, whatever his plans are for the future.

Being unable to commit to being available every Saturday or for all midweek games shouldn't be a reason to leave Harrow Borough, in my opinion - unless it's Michael's own choice.
H.B. is a small lower league football club, not a Premier League or even Conference club. The club is getting above itself if it is making 100% commitment demands on its players.
Players suffer absences through injury & suspensions through a season, so Michael Peacock's availability is less likely to be affected by those factors.
If he wants to play sign him up !!!

Being available for 75% of the games is more than most players play anyway, so unless we have 3 centre back signed who are better & will stay all season (& longer) this could be a decision that is regretted

This is a shame. A fine servant to the club and a good player. Always gave his all and took a few knocks along the way. All the best for the future Michael.

Hi Gents,
Just wanted to clear this one up.
Smikes has been a great servant to the club and the plan was to re-sign him depending on his work situation.
He contacted me last week and informed me that he would not be available every fourth Saturday and will struggle to get to any away games on a Tuesday. With that in mind we both agreed this wouldn't work for either party moving forward. I agree players will be missing through injuries over the season but you deal with that when it happens.
I don't think signing any player that you know could effectively miss 2-3 games a month would work.
I believe he has dropped down to step 4 and signed for Beaconsfield FC due to the travelling in the league.
All the best Bakes

Thanks for the info Steve.
Hope he's successful at Beaconsfield.
He certainly was a good player for us.
