Harrow Borough 2 Harlow Town 1

Probably the perfect opening match, in as much that it was two very evenly matched teams & we still won the three points..
Early on our defence played very well, then gradually we grew into the match. Two very well taken goals by Ant O'Connor, Michael Bryan looks a different player now he seems to know where the opposition goal is!,
Positives all over the pitch to take to Finchley on Tuesday.

It's always good to get a win in the famous Har-ow derby especially on the first day of the season. I feel a lot more at ease this season knowing that only one team goes down. For once, we may actually have a season where we are not worrying about relegation.

3 points closer to safety. Sitting pretty in 3rd place. Oh the joys of the beginning of the season.

Harlow definitely started the better but defence played reasonably well. They look big, strong and fast. Apparently Arinse Uade was suspended for today which meant Preddie played at right back with Hall at left back. Interesting to see where Preddie plays if everyone is fit. Once it went to 1-1, I felt like it was a very even game, not too many chances but we can also thank Melvin Minter for a great save too.

Wingate lost 4-1. Not reading too much into it but let's hope we can get a surprising win away there on Tuesday.

Sounded like a terrific game , when was the last time we won our opening game of the season ?
As for the W&F game surely it's about time our luck changed when we play them.

We last won our opening league match in 2012 beating Thurrock 4-1 at home, It was followed by Five straight defeats,
This is our 40th season in the Isthmian Premier Division, we have never won our first two matches! The last time we did win both was in 78/79 when we went on to be promoted.

Ah ... liked the first part of that answer Middx , but not the middle bit !
Fingers crossed the boys can do the business on Tuesday evening, make it two wins on the bounce and make history for the right reasons !

Not sure about rub of the green as such, felt like it was an even game and a draw would have been fair but we took our best chance late on.

So the last time we won our first two fixtures we got promoted? Massive game on Tuesday then, will be going up if we can beat bottom of the league 😂

Never won our first two games in the last 40 years. That's an incredible statistic. I am shocked about that. I remember two seasons ago, we got off to a good start. We were unbeaten for a while and almost broke a record.

I rekon it was the start of 2012/13 season when we beat Thurrock 4-1 at home and were top of table for about 48 hours. To be honest I thought we has the rub of the green yesterday but after all the bad luck of last year, who cares?
