Nick Pope

It's been reported that Nick Pope may be called up for England's upcoming friendly matches and who knows, may even play at the World Cup.
How many former Harrow Borough players have gone on to play for the full England national team?

I am sure he will be the first.
He was an excellent keeper when he played for us , but also a very nice fella who came along to watch us a couple of times after he went back to Charlton. I remember him behind the goal at Cray Wanderers away.

"Clearly the No 1 jersey is up for grabs," said Southgate. "From our point of view he [Hart] he has been our No 1 through qualifying, he is an important member of the squad so we wanted to keep him involved. "We don't know how the next eight to ten weeks will pan out for all of our goalkeepers but there is good competition for places and I think they're all looking forward to that."
Pope would be my number one. Hart is West Ham's second choice keeper and makes a lot of mistakes. Butland, who played against Harrow Borough at Earlsmead for Birmingham and conceeded three goals that day is playing for a poor Stoke team and have conceeded the second most goals in the premier league. Pickford has been okay but Pope has impressed more. Surely based on form this season, Pope has to be number one but I bet he won't be.
I remember a story when a new player missed the coach at South Mimms and had to run after it or something along those lines. Was that Nick Pope by any chance? or someone else perhaps.

Kwasi Frenpong & Toby Jinadu both missed coaches!
Nick Pope usually travelled with his family as he lived so far from Harrow.
Cappers Are you back in the UK ?

I've found it.
Shea’s Harrow career had begun in somewhat bizarre style. He awaited the team coach at the South Mimms services, only for a lorry fire to block the entrance. Receiving a phone-called description of what physio Samantha Backhouse looks like (the two never having met), he and his new ‘blind-date’ had to run out on to the junction roundabout to catch the coach as it couldn’t get to the meeting point.
It was James Shea. Well I was close as he was a goalkeeper.
I'm back in Kazakhstan after a year in Ireland. I returned to the UK for a few weeks in the summer but it was the off season so no games to go to. Though I did of course bring my Kazakh wife along to Earlsmead to show her the ground from the outside.
