Harrow 0 Gosport 1
Another frustrating and ultimately disappointing afternoon for Boro as Gosport took all three points.
My view on it, well Borough got off to a good start and could easily been two up after 20 mins but chances were not taken and Gosport got back into the game.
Rest of the half chances for both side's but it ended HT 0-0.
Kearney and Mcloud came on at HT , Kearney I thought looking very lively. An even second half I thought but again Borough were let down with another lapse of concentration/mistake call it what u like but they r really costing us at the moment, Gosport breaking away scoring the winner six mins before the end.
IMO we've really missed and not replaced Cumberbatch so far this season, and it shows.
Positives, George Moore (as always) Al Droubi made some fantastic saves, Kearney ( when he came on, Haugh and Mitchal good games.
Negatives, midfield not clicking, forwards not looking as sharp as they were at start of season.
Got to remain positive I guess and keep going, and on to the next game.
Re: Harrow 0 Gosport 1
It was indeed a very decent team performance, but with few real nagging issues. We need a presence in the opposition penalty box, we need the midfield to carry the ball forward positively, we need the defence to concentrate for 90 minutes.
Most were surprised by the Midfield selection & a half time substitution went somewhere way to correcting things, but at the same time we the seemed to replace the striker that was being effective!
Re: Harrow 0 Gosport 1
I believe it is likely the manager gave the benefit of any doubt to the starting midfield Saturday. The doubt must surely now be over. In my mind Harry Rush and Frank Keita ought to start in midfield. Probably alongside Mark McLeod as we need a ball winner there. Keita seems pretty good at passing the ball and Rush gets forward surprisingly well. Thought Kearney the new forward has a presence and seemed to hold the ball up well - a good solid start from him. No doubt the cup tie tomorrow will give the manager a chance to experiment slightly - although he will no doubt not want to lose and go out of yet another cup.
