Come on you Reds!
Boro 1 Frome 2
Well played to Frome they deserved their win.We must be very honest on we write on this forum. The team selection surprised me this wasnt a day for total football Holland style this was a win ugly game against Limited opponents. So in my view Mark Mcleod should have started hes a natural Leader and can get stuck in.Anthony O'Connor should have started when he came on his pace worried them.Ryan Moss hasnt been at his best Last few games in my view yet he played. If thats because hes Captain that cant be right no player must have a guaranteed place. We hear a Lot about game plans etc but when you play a poor team you take the game to them bombard the area with crosses as we did for the goal and a fierce commitment in midfield to win the ball.l had to give a full Fergie Hairdryer on halfway to one of our players complaining to ref about being fouled and told him to start getting stuck in and yes it worked for the Last 15mins of the first half things noticeably improved.Again standard of crosses/ Free Kicks needs work on and the slow build stuff needs bining for ever all this playing in our own half is pointless.l dont have a fancy coaching badge but l remember the great Bill Shanklys words that football is a simple game compicated by fools! Keep things simple do the basics well and a fierce determination to win are the 3 things any team needs.
Also when the ball is wide dont cut back inside keep it wide and get a decent ball in.As for the goals good finish by Mark Bitmead l was impressed with his work rate and our Keeper could have done better with their first and Long ball not dealt with for the second.6 games to go 18 points to win this is a very good test of character for our blokes so we need fierce determination next Saturday at Gosport to win that game whatever it takes and we are still in there fighting for 5th So Come On You Reds!

Re: Boro 1 Frome 2
I too was a little surprised by our starting line up, but thought we had a good shape generally so full credit to the management for the first hour., Our substitutions i was very surprised about, Michael Bryan was the best player on the park, so unless ge was injured, it was rediculous to take him off.
On another note i dont get the way our centre backs play at all. So high risk over playing on the edge of our own box. Neither of them gave any confidence today. Frome were not a great side & didnt attack with much purpose, but our defence still struggled & the passes out of defence were woeful.
I would rather have Preddie & Gough playing as our centre backs.
Re: Boro 1 Frome 2
Hello Middlesex Wanderer agreed Preddie and Gough they were fairly solid as a partnership.Micheal Bryan was running the game but he told me Last Saturday at Hartley Whitney when l spoke with him that he had twisted his ankle but he didnt seem in obvious pain and also George Moore going off surprised me.
Frank Keita coming on he didnt Look upto to the pace of the game and within a minute of coming on hes the wrong side of the opposition allowing a dangerous ball to come in. l would have had Mcleod on to shake his fist to demand more from the guys and his obvious ball winning ability. That wasnt good enough today against poor opponents so massive test near the Solent next Saturday. Not just of football ability but character.
