First of all good to see our ex manager Dave Anderson there tonight who l was Lucky enough to have few words with near the tunnel at the end.
Friendly and Personable as always.
As for the game a game of 2 halves as they say.
The first half we did well the ball on the whole moving forward well and Anthony O'Connors goal top class that was worthy of a goal from a football League player.
The midfield dug in and we outbattled Chertsey denied them space and were well worthy of our 1-0 Lead.
In the Second Half Chertsey upped their game and equalised when we failed to clear a ball in the box and scored a fluke for the winner when it was meant to be a cross.You dont become FA Vase winners without fight and determination and Chertsey showed that 2nd Half.
Things to improve as follows
1 Practice on 10 yard pass needs work in training.
2 I was told never throw a ball backwards or especially square infield. Always down the Line because it nearly cost a goal tonight Losing a ball in bad area.
3 From Kick off Kick the ball near opponents corner flag and try and win ball deep in their half.
4 We have no game plan l can see from free kicks on half way.The players arent sure what to do so the coach must sort this out.So many attacking opps wasted.
After all that lm very confident of a top 5. Place starting with Merthyr on Saturday who are nothing special and if we play to our potential we should beat them.
