A big disappointment being out of The FA Cup.
We have got to tell it Straight on our Forum.
Steve Baker is an excellent manager but the Formation and Team Selection was just baffling.
Ryan Moss on the bench.
Jordan Ireland considered a better option than George Fenton at Centre Back lm sorry they were bad calls.
Starting with a 4-5-1 at home to Carshalton do we really fear them that much.Come off it!!!
The first 40 mins was just Embarassing to watch Carshalton hit a post a bar we were 2nd to virtually every ball. They scored from a straight ball with Little pressure from midfield to stop the ball.
The Last 5 mins of 1st half we at Last got some crosses in and their keeper Looked all at sea.
So Lets be blunt we Lost 45mins of the match trying to play some Fancy Formation that was totally Ineffective.
Hey Presto! Ryan Moss comes on 2nd half we play 4-4-2 with George Moore coming on offering width with Excellence Muhemba some needed steel we were transformed.
After Carshalton had a player sent off for 30 mins we had their goal under siege good crosses going in and some excellent chances that on another day would have got a Replay at Least.
I hope Lessons have been Learned we must always start with 2 strikers upfont and that more direct style of play.
Play people in their Proper Positions Jordans a midfield player not a centre back.
So we are playing again Tuesday Learn the Lessons from Today we are out of the Cup so Concentrate on the League!!!!
Come On You Reds!!!!

Sometimes football really can defy logic. If we were able to beat Potters Bar in a full bloodied friendly and Carshalton lost to Potters Bar in the league, how on earth could we possibly have lost to Carshalton. The mind boggles! Maybe Terry can explain that one for us!

It's a real disappointment to be out of the cup. We played nearly the whole second half against ten men and couldn't at least salvage a draw. Ridiculous how we go from winning the Southern League best team of the month or whatevcer it's called to losing every match including two defeats to the bottom of the table side (to be fair they did beat Hemel today).

I can explain Cappers that team selection and formation was poor.
And in effect it was a 2nd half game.
To me that 1st half effort Lacked confidence and belief that we could take the game to Carshalton.
4-5-1 at home to Carshalton.
As John Mcenroe once said "You Cannot Be Serious"

That is why you can't look back on results against other teams such as Potters Bar because for a start, you have to take into account whether the tactics, team selection, confidence and belief will be right on the day and of course current form, which unfortunately for us is not good.

You don't become a bad team overnight so hopefully we can start to pick up a few wins sooner rather than later!

Agree with terry that I didn’t like the team selection.

Second half better but more so because they went down to 10. We squandered good chances through O’Connor, Moss and Muhemba which should have got us at least a draw and a replay but we never really carved them open.

Luke at left back didn’t seem to want to attack at all. Even Andrews seemed quite reserved.

Improvement needed.

Cheers Red Harrow.
The Great Bill Shankly said " Football Is A Simple Game Compicated By Fools"
Very true words l dont remember the great Liverpool teams of the 70s or recently Fergie era at Man Utd playing 4-5-1 at home.Ye What!!!
Or Similar Scotish words they may have used!!!!
I think we have fallen into this trap of getting so called good technical players in midfield who arent strong enough on the ball and dont produce enough crosses etc in box.
Im excluding Micheal Bryan and George Moore in this.
We are playing an Arsenal Lite sort of game.
But as we saw when Moss Muhemba and Moore came on in a 4-4-2 we were Transformed.
Jordan Ireland or George Fenton answers on a post card please.
George is a Central defender Jordan a playmaking midfielder.
Im at a Loss to understand that descsion.
I meant to mention Shaun Preddie Man of Match.
If everyone is fit start with the team that ended the game
with Fenton at centre back.
Ireland midfield and Cole dropping to the bench on Tuesday.
4-4-2 Simples!!!!!!
Come On You Reds!!!!!

Personally despite whatever formation or tactics we play, in my view we're just not putting the ball net when we really ought too.
Where's Dylan Kearney when you want him . . . . . . . .

I agree we could do with a new striker but where do you find them?

Terry - I bet you would have loved to have their number 7 in our midfield: a mountain of a man who was strong, skilful and very wise in delaying the game and getting into the referee. Don’t think we can sign him though as he’s also their manager.

I think Excellence is the man we need for that role.
As soon as he came on their players were bouncing off him complaining to the ref on another day he may have scored with that chance.
I would defo start him on Tues.
As for another striker always got for competition for places but with the right service Ryan and Anthony know where the back of the net is!!!!!

Sort of agree for the first 60 mins Earlsmead Part timer but then a Lot better with those crosses going in.
As for Dylan of course a quality player sorely missed.
But if you play 4-5-1 to start an important match at home well it doesnt matter who plays you will struggle to create chances aka first 40 mins.
Anthony O'Connor totally isolated.
How where we meant to score?
Far too much respect given to Carshalton.
The attitude must be from now on we are Harrow Borough we play with confidence and determination
The opponents fear us not the the other way round.

When I saw the team sheet I assumed Otudoko was going to be the 2nd striker. Unfortunately his contribution in midfield or attack was minimal.
In fact our midfield were disappointing in many ways.

Considering we are also are dealing with a heavy injury list in defensive areas (Pepera, Cole, Haugh & Moore struggling) the back line did ok , but why the opposite full back did not push up in the last 20 minutes was odd . They literally had one up, with 4 of our defenders on the half way line.

We seem to have switched from an attacking team to a negative one for no apparent reason.

I consider our current problems to be mainly in midfield we very seldom dominate games or create chances or win challenges in midfield. The ball goes out wide a lot but very little of this possession seems to end in dangerous crosses. O'Connor & Moss need to play down the centre not wide. scrap the short corner routines and don't win free kicks & then pass all the way back to the keeper get it into the oppo box and try & create chances & force mistakes.

Agreed Geekay.
We need to find bigger more physical midfieders who are tough to knock of the ball.We are far too Lightweight in that vital area.
Short Corner stuff Bin Forever!
Possesion based game Bin that too.
Go Long play 2nd Ball and crosses in box aka last 30 mins Saturday do that you will win more matches than you Lose.

Hello Alan Middlesex Wanderer.
Some good points there but 2 glaring issues.
Ryan Moss in form or not is a Specialist Striker.
George Fenton is a Specialist Defender.
They both should have started.
4-5-1 at home in an important game Like yesterday to play the first 45 mins is beyond me!
So Lets bin forever all the fancy systems play a solid 4-4-2
We take the game to our opponents not the other way!!!!
