First of all well played to Gosport they were better in every department than us today.
Where to start midfield l think.
This is area matches are won or Lost if You cant control the ball here how you can provide service for the forwards to score and you will come under pressure defensively.
We played 4-4-2 today but midfield was the weakness.
I cant pick the team or recruit but only have an opinion.
You must have strong physical players in midfield who are difficult to knock off the ball and yes be creative if poss pass 10 yrds etc.
I have to blunt and say we are too Lightwight in this area l can see this and a number of the fans in the main stand can see it because they tell me!
Game plan 4-4-2 works well with right personel.
As for 2 Gosport goals ones a header from cross the other a straight ball where George Fenton should been stronger yes use the elbow if need be to stop him shooting.
We missed Micheal Bryan with his crosses.
Generally not good enough work at it in training.
Players dont give shrug of the shoulder tell the guy overhitting cross got to do better or words to that effect!
Be demanding of yourself and each other.
High Standards.
Fierce Determination to win.
Team peformance just not good enough no point digging people out.
6/10 lm being generous.
Man of the Match Shaun Preddie.

I agree that the problems lie in Midfield. We were not moving the ball forward through midfield just playing long hopeful (often inaccurate) punts upfield. This has been the case in the last 4 games. Hard to say we were playing 4-4-2 I thought it looked more like 4-3-3 or as Ireland was so deep 5-2-3 thus leaving only Moloney & Cole to compete in central midfield & being outnumbered 2-1. I think Keita & Mcleod should start. Today we looked better after the substitutions had been made. IF we are using the 3 central defenders system the 2 wing backs have to get forward this is not happening with the current pairing.

We definitely needed some width. Hopeless long balls. We needed to get the ball wide and crossed in. If Bryan is good to go next week I’d like to see him and O’Connor wide with Moss and Kearney up front. Get Keita and McCleod in midfield too.

The 2nd half performance was nearly as bad as the 2nd half v Beaconsfield.
When we have possession we take so long to do anything with it our opponents have time to get eveyone behind the ball.

Yes agreed Middlesex Wanderer there is no apparent game plan from what l can make out the time Josh got a decent ball in we nearly scored.
You need to keep it simple get in behind teams if poss with good balls in the area failing that just hit the area play 2nd ball put them under pressure endless short balls that go nowhere bin!
Theres far too much fancy stuff and a Lack of end product
We were physically too weak in midfield yesterday thats the truth we couldnt win enough ball.
If we can play the right system toughen up midfield we have enough players to be top 5 very least.

Terry yesterday we were hitting the ball long so often and that didn’t work either. Too much fancy stuff you say, well there was none of that yesterday. We hit the channel, we hit it long, the ball didn’t stick and we didn’t get the 2nd ball or put pressure on them. Like you said when Josh got the ball down the wing we looked better. The fact is we didn’t work the ball enough to get our full backs up the pitch. We needed some width and we didn’t get it enough. Some wingers should have been introduced.

Im sorry Red Harrow l cant agree my friend.
Why do players keep coming iside instead to play short when they just need to hit the area. With a cross on the wing.
Yesterday we were playing long straight balls thats no good if you play channels you have more options.
If we played a proper pressing game high up the pitch deliver the ball early then teams would soon buckle under the pressure.
One golden rule l would say every time you have a free kick on half always hit area for 2nd ball never play short.
2 weeks till next game.
Players need to work hard on crossing passing and shooting.
Hard work only way to improve!
