Irrespective of whatever team Wealdstone put out last night, any victory over them is always very satisfying, especially on their own turf. Now let's put a winning run together and avoid the threat of relegation.

Tony Great To Hear From You Hope Things Are Well Down in Swindon.
We Are Trying to Avoid The"R" Word but we are in a battle.
I mentioned after the Hartley game it was just unacceptable what we saw and thankfully Taunton&Poole
And Last Night some Character and Fight to beat The Old Enemy!
I mentioned that Harry Manoe Wayne Walters and George Lidster wouldnt have accepted what we saw against Hartley.
I dont know if you were at Wembley FC in 1978 when going for Promotion George Lidster and Gary Fowles came to blows after Wembleys 5th goal those were the days with Lidster blaming Fowles for the goal.
George a tough Geordie!
Please keep in touch with us on the forum from Sunny Swindon!

Hi Terry,
I'd already moved to Swindon some time before the Wembley match that you're referring to, so didn't get to see it.
However, I seem to remember seeing Harrow Town (as they were then) playing there some time previously. Was their ground at Vale Farm?
Sadly, I also recollect a match at home against Wealdstone when we lost rather heavily 2-7. They were, as they are now, the premier local side at that time. During those years a few players switched between the clubs. If I remember correctly two local players Kenny Gee (a great favourite on the social side too) and full back Brian (Butch) Wakefield. Coming from Wealdstone was a goalkeeper George Wood (a small player for that position).

Cheers Tony thats right originally Harrow Town I stand to be corrected but the original ground was Rooks Heath School and then Earlsmead.
If only The Much Missed Tony Booth was alive Our Club Historian we would have a definitive answer.
Yes in the old days Wealdstone use to keep beating us until that great day in 1977 when we beat them 3-0 at Earlsmead in a Cup Match and Frank Seward scored a goal that l still think is the greatest ever scored at Earlsmead.
Then of course our Magnificent 4-1 win at Lower Mead in 1981 in another Cup game and their fans just couldnt take it all those years they beat us and they were such bad Losers the match was stopped when Les Currell in goal was Bombarded with Eggs and Flour!
Always great to beat Stones!!!
Please keep in touch and we are playing Swindon Supermarine in March hopefully l will try to attend that one through Supporters Travel.

Earlsmead has been our home ground since 1934.
The club was formed in 1933, the first season was played on some land along Northolt Road.
