Isthmian league Champions Season 1983-84
Views: 982
It seems like yesterday we won the league by a massive 17 points. What an enjoyable season that was ! After the season had ended we decided not to move forward with promotion to the now named National League. Financially it was very difficult to justify - time has definitely proved that decision to be correct for ourselves.
Wealdstone have had a great 2019-20 season and it now seems they have a chance of deserved promotion subject to a forthcoming National League vote . The vote will decide how to conclude the season promotion and relegation wise. On a points per game basis Wealdstone are in pole position. Will be watching how the vote goes with interest.

Yes agree, 83/84 was a fantastic season. At the time I was disappointed we did not go up . That decision was definatly the correct one, in hindsight, as every other former Isthmian League club that has gone up has either gone bust or has lost their ground.
As Wealdstone have found out there is not another site in Harrow to build a new ground, so I am sure the club would not exist now.
Wealdstone's promotion or not, will probably rest on what the football league decide to do
If there is no promotion from the National league I dont expect there will be from National South.
