A Day At The Woods!

Not Being Able To Make The Trip For Boros Friendly With Ascot l Had To Content Myself With a Day At Northwood v Potters Bar in a "Friendly" But Both Sides Got Stuck In Well and Potters Bar Deserved a 2-0 Win.
Northwood Unfortunately Doing What We Used To Do Constantly Playing Out From Back and You Guessed it Keep Losing The Ball in Bad Areas.
Pray God They Don't Do That In League Games!
The Whole Experience Was Very Good a Temp Check at Turnstile And Name and Phone Number Track and Trace And That's it And a Fiver Admission!
Some Seating In Main Stand Cordoned Off But Not Too Bad For Viewing and No More Than 6 in a Group.
Im Guessing Around 70-80 The Crowd and To Be Honest it Felt Like a Normal Game!
If Any Fan Who Was at Ascot Could Give Some Details About The Match on The Forum That Would Be Fab and Looking Forward To That Free Admission v Chertsey on Tuesday Night!!!
Great To Have Non League Back!
Come on You Reds!!!

Having been one of the only boro fans at the game, I can confirm you did not miss much. The team faced a well trained Ascot side! In my opinion the lads representing the host were all fighting for a place in their FA cup on tuesday night. We took the lead in the first half after we broke free from their defence but did not score again for the rest of the game, however we did have chances. The squad also saw a few new faces which probably had a impact on team cohesion but can't confirm if the players agree... Also have to give credit to Ben tricker for a MOTM performance in what was overall a disappointing defeat.

Thank You Ash Boro Loyal For That Report.
Yes It's Only a Friendly But Disappointing As You Say That After Taking The Lead We Lose The Game Against a Team Of Limited Ability That We Should Be Expected To Beat.
We Will Have A Similiar Scenario Soon When We PlayOur Fa Cup Tie Probably Against Tower Hamlets.
There's a Knack To Playing and Winning These Type Of Games Forget The Beautiful Game Stuff Dig in And Win Ugly If Need Be.
I Know In The Past Some Have Said Don't Be Too Critical But Let's Be Honest To Lose 2-1 at a Team Like Ascot Utd Just Isn't Good Enough And We Need a Big Improvement. v Chertsey on Tuesday Night.

Hi Terence! Just out of interest, what makes you think that Tower Hamlets are likely to win against Langney Wanderers. Last season, Tower Hamlets were 18th out of 19 teams in the Essex Senior League with 22 pts from 27 played. Langney Wanderers were 9th out of 20 in the Southern Combination League (same level as Essex Senior) with 39 pts from 28 played.

So solely based on last season, Langney Wanderers would be clear favourites for the match but of course things might have changed since then with player recruitment etc. I have no idea about that but perhaps Terence does!?

Hi Cappers Great To Hear From You!
We'll You Said,Those Magic Words Essex Senior League Where it's Fairly Robust Shall We Say and The Teams Battle Harden.
With Respect To Langney Wanderers The Southern Combination Not So Tough Shall We Say.
So My Money On Tower Hamlets Who We Will Face.
The Vital Lesson We Must Learn Playing Against Inferior Opposition is When You Get a Lead Keep The Tempo Going and Play As Much As Possible In Their Half of The Pitch.
If We Play Tower Hamlets They Will Make it Tough No Doubt Kick Sorry Strongly Tackle Etc.
That's Where You Need Strong Characters and Leaders in The Team To Get a Result.
That Was Obviously Lacking In The Performance Against The"Might"Of Ascot Utd!
