Off to Eastbourne

Langney Wanderers won 3-1 against Tower Hamlets tonight so off to Eastbourne we go. Langney ground share at Eastbourne Borough and we all remember what happened last time we played there. My greatest ever Harrow Borough match by a country mile.

Also, according to the Eastbourne Borough website it says they are playing at home to Potters Bar in a friendly that weekend. Firstly, why would Potters Bar travel all the way to Eastbourne just for a friendly and more importantly I guess that means our match will be moved to a different day unless FA Cup takes priority over friendlies?

I would very much think that the FA cup takes priority. We shall wait and see however. Terrence was wrong about the result. Let’s hope regardless we can get through. A solid display v Chertsey tonight.

11:30 kick off? I've never heard of a morning kick off in senior football. I know the early Premier League games kick off at around 12:00 or 12:30 but 11:30 that's a first!

Presumably this is to allow Eastbourne Borough to play a pre-season friendly against Potters Bar. Fair enough I suppose as it is their stadium but rather odd nonetheless.

Hello Cappers Yes In Sunday League Football 11.30 Am Kick Offs Are Common But To My Mind The Sussex FA Should Step In And Insist That a FA Cup Match Takes Priority Over A Friendly And The Match Kicks Off At 3pm On Saturday.
By Having A 11.30am Kick Off This Is Aka What Professional Teams Do In Regard To Tv Etc And Show Total Disregard To Travelling Fans.
Exactly The Same Situation We Face Saturday.
Peter Rogers Or A Member Of Harrow Boros Board Should Make Representations To The Sussex FA About Having The Kick Off Time Changed Back To 3pm and Say To Them As The Governing Body Of Football In Sussex Are They Happy For The Competition That They Run To Be Lessened and Cheapened By Having a FA Cup Match As Some Sort Of Warm Up Match For a "Friendly"
Sussex FA Must Have Powers To Look Into This Matter and Should Use Them!

This is already a comprimise as the original date offered was Friday night.

Competition rules say games can be played Friday, Saturday , Sunday or Monday.

Cheers Alan. Friday Night You Say They Offered. What Planet Are They On!
This Is Not A
Great Compromise Im Sorry.
Surely FA Cup Games Take Priorty Over Friendlys.
Wheres The Leadership From The Sussex FA In All This.
Simple Solution.
Langney v Harrow Boro 3pm Saturday.
Eastbournes Big "Game" v Potters Bar 3pm Sunday!
Surely This Situation Is Akin To The Tail Wagging The Dog!
Not Good Enough By A Long Way!
If This Can't Be Resolved For a 3pm Saturday Kick Off Then The FA Should Step In and Either Award Us The Tie Or Switch The Game To Earlsmead Next Saturday With a 3pm Kick Off.

Has nothing to do with Sussex FA & even if it did, it is within the rules.
But most importantly both clubs have agreed Saturday at 11.30 so no need for anybody to intervene.

Thanks Alan.
Have To Differ With You On This.
Quoting The Sussex FA Website The Following:
Sussex FA Is Not For Profit Making Governing Body Of Football In Sussex.
Governing Body Sounds To Me They Have A Big Influence On Things.
But As You Say Alan Both Clubs Have Agreed a 11.30am Kick Off On Saturday Morning.
We Have To Give Honest Opinions On This Great Forum And If I Had a Position Of Influence at Harrow Borough Or God Forbid a Management Role There's No Way l Would Have Agreed To a 11.30am Kick Off On A Saturday Morning.
In Regard To The Fans Getting There Absolutely But Also From a Playing Side We May Be At A Disadvantage With Our Players Travelling A Fair Distance With Such An Early Start And Not Being At Their Best.
To Be Blunt This Is a Poor Decision That We Have Made By Handing A Possible Advantage To Langney And I Would Have Made Strong Representations To Sussex FA For a 3pm Kick Off Sunday If They Refuse That Asking FA To Reschedule The Match For Earlsmead Next Saturday For 3pm Or Award Us The Tie.
Sometimes You Do Have To Make A Fuss And Not Be Prepared For The Easy Way Out As We Have Done Here.

I find it funny that Langney would prefer a Friday night than a Sunday afternoon. Hope the players don’t go out on the Friday night! The team would probably want to be there by 10 so an 8am departure!

Hello Harrowred. We Are Having A Good Debate On This.
Ive Read FAs Rules About Shared Grounds For FA Cup Ties And So The Mystery To Me Is If The Ground Owner In This Case Eastbourne Boro Can Have Priorty Why Can't Our Match Be Played 3pm Sunday.
Such A Boring Day Sunday Im Sure We Would Bring A Good Away Following And It Would Boost The Gate With Home Fans Too.
As It Stands At The Moment 11.30am Kick Off Saturday Is A Complete Joke And Our Board Of Directors Should Ask For a 3pm Sunday Kick Off If Langney Refuse This As I Said Earlier Ask The FA To Award Us The Tie Or Reschedue The Tie For Earlsmead Next Saturday 3pm Kick Off.

So reading between the lines, it seems the game was planned for Friday but we objected and got the game moved to Saturday but with an early kick off.

I hope Eastbourne Borough v Potters Bar is an absolute cracker after the extra hassle it's going to cause us!

Why Are They Homeless That's Another Good Question.

But if both clubs are happy with it, so be it.

Does anyone know if you can just turn up on the day?

If so might be able to make it.

Hello HarrowRed Well You Say The Club Is Happy With a 11.30am Kick Off Saturday Well Not Much Thought Has Been Given To The Fans Getting There and If I Was In Steve Bakers Position As Manager I Would Tell Our Board Not To Accept It As The Players May Not To Be At Their Best With a 2Hour Journey Early Morning. At The Very Least The Sussex FA Should Have Been Contacted About This Matter.
To Me This Is Weak Leadership On and Off The Pitch and Maybe An Attitude We Just Have To Turn Up Whatever The Time And We Are Going To Win.
Put It Like This If Alex Ferguson When At Man Utd Thought They Were At a Disadvantage For Any Reason He Wouldnt Just Nod and Agree I Think Not!!!
