Merthyr

Merthyr Town have decided to ‘suspend’ themselves from the league this year because of the lockdown in Wales. Looks like this will be ratified by the Southern League with them being allowed back into the league and FA Cup next season.
Our league will be down to 20 teams. How will it affect relegation do we think?

I know just as much (or not!) as anybody else, but wouldn't be surprised if the league gets suspended again in the near future the way things are going.

I agree I can definitely see this season being halted again! Hopefully if we can all go to school, work, shops etc then why can’t we socially distance in a 200/300 limited crowd outside at a non league ground?

In regards to the situation at Merthyr, it is a complete joke! The decision has been made based on the fact that they are not allowed fans in, let alone the simple the fact they are ban from playing friendly games! seems as if this season just was not meant to be for them! they will be re entering the southern league at the same level next year (21/22) providing there is not a change to current plans. Have to wish them well at the end of the day as it is not nice to see any team suffer.. even if they are welsh ;)

Cheers Earlsmead Part Timer & Ash.
Yes Just Unfortunate For Merthyr Playing To A Separate
Set Of Rules,Under a Welsh Labour Government God Help Them!
Let's All Pray For a Good Helping Of Common Sense To Keep NonLeague Going At Our Level And Below Where Fans Can Socially Distance And The Rest Of It!
