We Deserve A Great Draw!!!
I’m Praying For A Home Draw At “Fortress Earlsmead” With A League Club!
To Win 4 Games To Get This Far Takes Determination And Skill And YesThe Odd Bit Of Luck!
But l Remember Pre Lockdown During The Off Season How Us Group Of Fans Came Along To Tidy The Ground.
Pulling Up Weeds,Cleaning The Seats Of The Main Stand,Doing Some Painting And Cutting The Grass On A Verge Near The Main Entrance!
We Then Saw New Gates And The Surface Relaid Of The Main Entrance During The Summer.
So Our Ground Is “Ship Shape” To Welcome Any League Team!
So This Is A All Round Team Effort.
The Players And Management Producing The Goods On The Pitch And Us Fans Off It Helping And Giving Support Home And Away.
So All Eyes ITV At 1pm!!!
Come On You Reds!!!

Call me crazy but I think we've won this. Harrow will steal the win late on in the second half, whoever the scorer is. Bring on QPR away in the next round!

I'll take Pompey away.
Some decent cash into the club and not that far away so no excuses for every Boro fan not to get their butts to Fratton Park on November 6th.
The away end allocation is normally 1400 - lets fill it and make it a day to remember.

What a draw!! The players will be buzzing to play at Fratton Park and we get to play a former winner, most recently in 2008!
We need to massively just enjoy the experience. I reckon this could also get moved for TV.

Every person who has been to a Boro game in the last 25 years needs to get a ticket and support the boys.

Great draw for us money wise. Portsmouth also on a run of poor form bar a 4-0 home win against Sunderland. Managed by the Cowley brothers as well who most will have a great deal of respect for what they did at Lincoln City and then Huddersfield Town.

We Play To Our Potential And I’m Sure We Are Going To Knock Portsmouth Out Of The FA Cup At Fratton Park!

Oh well, there goes my dream of seeing us winning the FA Cup without leaving London after three home wins and a win in the London Borough of Bexley. I guess we'll have to win it now by travelling around the country starting with the south coast!
It's a great draw for the club being pitted against such an illustrious club as Portsmouth. As has been mentioned, they won the FA Cup as recently as 2008 and were an established Premier League club.
I remember in 2002 going to Havant & Waterlooville to see us lose 2-1 to them in the FA Cup. Portsmouth were at home that day and there were a lot of Portsmouth fans around. After the match, whilst waiting for the train back to London at Havant station, I was reading the match programme and someone came up to me (thinking it was the Portsmouth programme) and asked me what the Pompey score was. I said I don't know because I was at the Havant & Waterlooville game. I remember thinking at the time, if only we had played Portsmouth at Fratton Park instead of Havant & Waterlooville. Now that dream is about to come true!
There is a lot of negativity on their forums and Twitter. A lot of their fans even think we're going to win! Those comments shouldn't be taken seriously though as football fans in general tend to be very negative when things are not going so well (unless you're Terry). At the end of the day they are a professional team in mid table, four divisions above us. All I ask is that we give it absolutely everything and leave the pitch without any regrets. Oh and a goal would be nice as well!
As for the game being on tv. I'd be surprised as they normally go for games where the non league team is at home. Therefore, if we had drawn them at home, I'd have been fairly certain the game would have been televised.
I'm so proud of our little club. It's a truly great achievement to be in the First Round of the FA Cup and about to play against Portsmouth at Fratton Park.

This is true about the tv matches. Maybe they will make an exception. Regardless, I imagine we would be one of the single camera games at least which last year earned clubs about £12k in revenue. A live TV game earned £32k last year

Hello Cappers Thanks For Your Kind Words My Friend.
As l Wrote Yesterday We Fear No One At The Moment And That lncludes Portsmouth Who Are Under Pressure Being Just Mid Table In League 1.
I Would Say This Is A Great Time To Play Them.
If We Could Get The First Goal Then You May See Their Fans Turn On The Team And Manager.
This Is A Great Game For Us.
None Of The “Experts” Will Give Us A Chance Yet We Have The Precious Commodity That Cant Be Bought Or Sold In That We Know How To Win.
Whether From The Front Or As We Saw Yesterday From Behind.
That’s Something Portsmouth Lack At The Moment And At The Risk Of Being Accused Of Playing “Mind Games” Would Portsmouth On Current Evidence Have The Bottle And Character To Beat Us If We Took The Lead At Fratton Park.
I Think Not!
I’m Confidently Saying 2-1 To Borough For Our Biggest Game In 38 Years!!!

Danny Cowley's response:
How much do you know about your FA Cup first round opponents Harrow Borough?
I played there a number of times. I remember playing there with Hornchurch. It was 1-1, we were top of the league, George Ball was the manager. He was very disappointed, it was December the 21st and he kept us in the dressing room for about two hours after the game. Screaming at us.
He kicked the bin and broke his foot. He came in Boxing Day with a plaster cast, I always remember that. Dave Anderson, who is a very good friend of mine, was Harrow Borough manager for a number of years.
They are step three at the moment. I had a good look on their website just to see if there was any players that I remembered or I could recognise. I watched the highlights of their game, there was some good highlights actually against Chelmsford.
It was a really good game, 4-2. They scored the first goal, then they were 2-1 down and then they came back. It was a good game, a really good game. I watched the clips. They played a 4-3-3 and had some athleticism and power, particularly in the midfield area. Great game.
I’ve managed teams in that division in the first round of the FA Cup, I know how motivated they will be to come to Fratton Park. I know how dangerous these games can be in the FA Cup.
I’ve lived the romance of the FA Cup and been the underdog. I know that amazing things can happen. For us, we have to prepare diligently. Do all of our work like we always do to prepare the team the best we can to get a positive result in what will be a very important game when it comes around.

As part of John Kerr's transfer in 1987. Portsmouth sent a side to Earlsmead for a pre season friendly on 11th August 1987. Pompey won 3-2, Boro goals were scored by Richard Evans & Lawrence Holmes. I believe this is the only previous meeting .
