Pitchgate
Views: 1141
When we played Truro a couple of their supporters told us about a big argument when Chesham goalkeeper Sam Beasant made illegal markings on the penalty area.
.Chesham have taken this a stage further as their groundsman makes extra markings down the centre of each penalty area for him.
Law 1 of the game clearly states this is a cautionable
offence.
Beasant is a very good goalkeeper and I think a decent bloke, but last night he came across as an arrogant twat. Laughing that he didnt make the makeings so couldnt be booked.
I hope the referee reports it & the FA /Southern League take it seriously.
On Saturday I suggested we watch out & perhaps give the referee a heads up that he thinks cheating is ok

Don't worry any alleged lines or marks in the penalty area didn't affect Harrow on Tuesday, your players didn't really get close enough to Beasant's goal for it to be a problem for you.

Your right it wont effect us . Chesham will get fined etc. Nothing to do with us.

Fined for what? Find me the offence & law in the FA laws that you believe is broken?? The only reference is to a goalkeeper digging a hole on the lines which is punishable by a yellow card if spotted by the ref during the game. And as the OP said Beasant didn't make any lines or marks.
Is every 4G pitch in the country illegal now, they have extra lines on them to the traditional pitch markings?

I suggest you read law 1 of the game then. No other lines are permitted. On multi use pitches no other lines to be in white. Multi use pitches wouldn't get a grading to play at our level so same rules apply to every team in our league.
Beasant has had other complaints made against him this season. Not least for damaging other clubs pitches.
Why defend these unsporting actions.

Walton, Beaconsfield, Merthyr??? All multi use pitches
I also notice that Brentfords pitch has additional markings on it tonight v Watford (rugby markings) so I do wonder if your just desperately looking for a rule that doesn't appear to be enforced anymore including at the "elite" end of the game.

Have any of those pitches got unauthorised white lines on them ?
You seem very keen to defend unsporting behaviour

BTW the referee has now noted and reported your goalposts at both ends that are not straight.

I agree the posts at both ends are not straight ie leaning back and they certainly need rectifying.

In Answer To The 2 Chesham Fans On Our Forum.
I Suggest All Refs Concentrate Getting Descions Right On The Pitch And As Long As The Nets Don’t Have Any Holes In Them That Should Be Good Enough.
Please Remember That Shaun Preddie Our Captain And One Of The Best Defenders In The Southern League Was Injured Today.

Those going to Saturday's match definitely need to "keep 'em peeled" as Shaw Taylor used to say.
Mind you I'm more worried about how the "powers that be" and the media etc are winding everything up with Covid-19 again.
IMO I wouldn't be surprised if our league is suspended again over Christmas or in the New Year and who knows, perhaps ultimately another season is voided again.
