Beaconsfield 6 - 1 Harrow Borough

Jeez..

After the last 2 games I thought we'd turned the proverbial corner and the players had heeded the managers 'last chance saloon' statement.

This performance which is a misuse of the word goes to show that the squad still needs turning over in a big way.
We have no leaders on the pitch. No midfield general in our ranks. Unfortunately when the going gets tough our side play like Captain Darling.

6 goals conceded and none of them that a neutral would have said anything other than poor defending.

The word shambolic was heard numerous times from the mouths of the Boro fans during the 2nd half and it's hard to disagree on that showing.

Anxious glance over the shoulder time?

I think we will be ok from a safety point of view with so many games left and 38 points already in the bag - fingers crossed.... A bad day at the office mainly defence wise and I think the players don't like playing on 4g surfaces. Certainly our results on them indicate that. We had a good number of half chances during the game which we were unable to take. George Moore our stand out player on the day IMO. I presume Antonio was injured and unable to play today and instead Ant started. Still no Sam or Sean although Sean on the bench. Don't know why Leo came off at half time - pretty sure that him coming off did not help our cause. Assume injured!? No match Tuesday so a little more time for the players to get fit. Saturday against third from bottom Kings Langley at home should be interesting. COYR

When we got spanked at Taunton, Leo was on the bench , but fit enough to come on when we had already hoisted the White flag.
If today it was a tactical switch , it was an extremely poor one. As was bringing MCS on for Ewington, if you are going to use MCS to chase a game he has to have a partner.
Leo is our best (only) defensive midfield player . He has to play if fit.

We are basically a back 4/5 with Moore & Ewington , then 4 others making up the numbers & contributing very little.

Big question marks about what Bryan, O'Conner, MCS & Cole are bringing to this squad.

Sounds like the old "Jekyll and Hyde" Harrow Borough are back then.
I don't understand how a teams form and results can vary so wildly from good to bad so easily ?

Agree, Kings Langley game now very interesting !

Surely time now to give a chance to some of the under 23's - and why not cut the budget if that was the best today's team can do ?

Promotion and relegation are not going to happen so the risk is non-existent.

Well it's either that or the boys are clearly missing Terry's encouragement . . . . . . . ;)

Probably not, but.
Beaconsfields scored a classic route one goal . Drop kick, one touch from striker, Goal.
Not that I want us to play route one , but when we are chasing the game Josh kicks far too wide with most of his kicks going out for throw ins. When we are behind we need to put pressure on the opponents defence, not give away numerous cheap throw ins
