FA cup exit 4 - 1 v Bracknell

Second 4-1 defeat at Bracknell in the last few weeks but the performance and attitude on the pitch was completely different.
No idea how we went in 2-0 down at half time.
Deflected goal gave them an early lead, before we bossed the game for the next half hour and could easily have been 3-1 up.
Alas, we didn't take our chances and on the stroke of half time we are 2-0 down when we appeared to completely switch off at the back and as in the first game at Bracknell, a free run at goal from our left ended with what looked like an own goal from Imran trying to stop the forward behind him from tapping in.
Still in with a chance given the way we were playing but Jacob getting send off for bringing down the forward as he was rounding him after several failed chances to clear the ball killed the tie completely.Third game in a row we've conceded a penalty and fourth in five games.
Boro continued to battle and great work from George provided a goal for Mr Ewington.
Disappointed to exit but for the first time this season we looked like a good side.
I doubt Imran will be with us for long as he's head and shoulders above anyone from any team we've played this season.
Pleasure to watch him play. If only we could get 2 centre backs available so he could play in midfield.
Plenty to build on from today.

Read a neutral view on Twitter which seemed to agree with you that we were by far the better team in the first half and they couldn’t believe we were 2-0 down and that the red card/penalty ended any possibility of a comeback.

Let’s hope we take that performance into the rest of our September league games.

As for the cup this season, perhaps it’ll be our turn for a good run in the FA Trophy. We are certainly due one!

Absolutely agree. Some sympathy with the team, despite the amount of goals we have conceded, because we haven’t had a settled side. Injuries and suspensions constantly to our first choice centre backs. must stop giving away penalties and going down to 10 men! Uche was a top Signing but we need him in midfield!

Desperate for a settled side. The good thing is it’s two in a row for Ewington so let’s hope that’s a sign of things to come.
