Winchester City

After our good win Saturday we move on to another 6 pointer at Winchester.
Winchester came back from a 2 goal deficit at half time to draw at home with Merthyr last Saturday.
Hopefully we can take form from our last 2 games to this one.
A must win match to keep the confidence going ,especially after most other results went our way Saturday to move out of the relegation zone.

Two evenly matched sides imo.
I would have thought it will be a very close game. Probably decided by a moment of brilliance or a mistake by either side.
I noticed on the video highlights of their match against Merthyr both Winchester goals were from set pieces.

Show the same commitment and attitude on the night as we have done in our last two games and we have a great chance to get something from the match .

We will need to be alert to their long throws
Hopefully no further injury worries.
I fancy a Boro win, Billy Leonard is due a goal . 3-1 to Boro

Set pieces are normally a problem for us. I think it will be high scoring. Maybe we sneak a 3-2 win with a late penalty

Second clean sheet in four days but it feels like 2 points dropped.
Very difficult surface with the bounce being completely unpredictable all night. I doubt it would have been any different in warm sunshine.
They created next to nothing. Very solid at the back. Ezra and Sonny were outstanding.
A few decent chances spurned. Lots of off target shots from the edge of the box.
We've had the same ref at Earlsmead this season. Yet again he thought everyone had paid to watch him. Stopped play for both sides when a clear advantage should have been played and booked players for non fouls whilst letting bad tackles go unpunished.
North Leigh won again last night, so it's going to be a difficult game again on Saturday.
Hopefully we have a full squad available. Only 2 genuine subs last night.
Special mention to the Dave Green stand. Possibly the oddest 'stand' anyone had ever seen at this level..

Apparently Winchester is twinned with Chatteris in the fens and home of Dave Boy Green (The FennTiger). The stand was erected as a tribute to his boxing career. I agree with your match summary.

The 48 seats representing his 41 professional bouts and 7 appearances on Superstars, where he was a perennial runner up to the 'King of the Dips'
Brian Jacks.
It all makes sense now... 😉

Yep sounds like we were the more likely team to score and win. A real shame we didn’t. 4 points from these two games is a good start. Must be followed up with a win against North Leigh. There’s also a huge game against Salisbury next midweek which has kind of flown under the radar a little.

Looking at the fixtures, there’s only 4 or 5 games where I don’t fancy us to get anything if we play as well as we are doing. The rest are all very winnable. I could see us getting as much as another 27 points. Worst case scenario is only 12.

Yep agreed that's how I saw it. Good attitude and commitment from Boro and Sonny Hart , fantastic performance considering his age.
Frustrating we couldn't put one of those chances away.

Oh yes , the Dave Green stand ! . . . . . . Mmmm !

As said, we were the better team Billy's shot that hit the bar had the keeper well beaten. So close to a win, but a decent point.
Excellent support for Boro, 30+ for a midweek away gane is better than any side have brought to Earlsmead from a similar distance.

Hampshire clubs getting promoted in this division must have a very lenient ground inspection. Hartley Wintney, Blackfield and Langley, now Winchester have grounds way below the standard expected.
