No appeal

The club confirm they won’t appeal and will take their place at step 3 next year. I’m glad. Seems the manager is very happy about it so maybe he pushed it. If we have no money and can’t compete and sit in the bottom 4 all season, yes it’ll be depressing, but at least we gave it a go.

Very good news.
JB seems of the same opinion of most of us on here and I like his positivity.
Now, more than ever the team and club need our support.
I read the weekly chairman's newsletter from Chesham United yesterday. One line stood out, when he quoted what a former Chesham chairman had said to him.. 'If you're not going forward, you'll go backwards'
Not taking the reprieve would definitely have been going backwards.
League season starts on 5th August.
Bring it on.

Replying to the Major's hat's post :
"I read the weekly chairman's newsletter from Chesham United yesterday. One line stood out, when he quoted what a former Chesham chairman had said to him.. 'If you're not going forward, you'll go backwards"
This is clearly untrue - Chesham Utd and Harrow Borough have stood still for years - whilst I can count at least 15 clubs who moved on to win promotion to the Conference South or North in the relatively few years I've watched Chesham and Harrow Borough. Even after they end up in a relegation spot the Borough don't go backwards and when Chesham make the playoffs they don't win through !

I think every Boro fan here would take your version of stagnation over ours.
Losing in playoff finals and semis kind of trumps 2 relegation reprieves and several seasons of clinging onto our status by our fingertips.
Off the field too you have a very impressive set up and attract more sponsors and raise funds better than any other 'local' club at our level.
*Obviously excluding the Ted Lasso money that Hayes obtained.

Great news. It's a really nice ending to Steve Baker's long tenure with the club. He managed to keep us up in the end! We had a great trophy run too. We were so close to knocking out Halifax as well. A difficult season but one that ends with us safe from relegation (thanks to the old bill of course).
I have no idea what we'll be like next season. JB may or may not turn out to be a fantastic manager. I think I'll keep my expectations low. If we can finish above four teams that would be a good achievement.

Agree with everyone, great news.
Don't look a "gift horse in the mouth" as my Dad used to say.
U never know we might defy the odds and have a good season.
Just goes to show although I never realised at the time how important that last day win against Yate Town was after all.

Had we known we needed to win against Yate to stay up what a different atmosphere it would have been.
Anyway looking forward to next season now - should be interesting to say the least.

It’s definitely an uphill struggle, but I can’t remember a time when it wasn’t and we’ve had some incredible seasons despite that odds being against us.
