Well surely we must be signing players but they aren't being made public. My two main concerns are that our budget is too low to attract decent players and that our new management team don't have contacts at this level to sign step 3 quality players. So I fear we will end up with a squad of step 4/5 quality. I hope I'm completely wrong.

I'm sure we will see some names being announced this week.
Both valid concerns, but I'm cautiously optimistic that we will be a lot better than most people expect.
How big is the gap between a good step 4 player and an average step 3 one?
Young and hungry players wanting to make the step up will definitely cost less than established players.

We should see some white smoke rising above Earlsmead next week.
July 1st is when players can start to be registered.

How many of last seasons squad will JB actually know. He did mention Billy by name as someone he knew from North Greenford.
Apparently, Hendon have a bit of cash behind them now and Billy won't be the only Boro player that ends up playing in that soulless park in Kingsbury.
I'd imagine Jordan will be bringing in players he knows and trusts before anyone else.
Whoever signs for Boro, as long as they give 100% they will be supported.

It will be interesting to see how Harrow and Hendon fair next season.
Let's face it both teams didn't exactly cover themselves in glory last season in the league.
Nine wins each out of 42 games. Hardly ripping up trees is it ?
The only player I would have held on to was George Moore but I presume he won't be here next season ?
The rest weren't good enough as the League position showed.
Of course in saying that no doubt Kai and Billy will both score in their matches against us !

Personally I’d also hold on to Noel-Williams and Biler if given the chance. Bloom will also be a cheap and young squad player. Leonard I would have kept. Brosnan was decent but not super influential. Signings will be announced in the coming weeks no doubt. I fear with our budget dropping from ~35k to ~20k, it’ll be seriously tough for JB to put a competitive team on the pitch. At this stage I’d take 5th from bottom and the budget going back up and looking to push on with JB in the 2024/25 season.

Registrations are happening, tba soon. If there are no details today but some coverage of the game tomorrow, I imagine we will be able to glean names from that. Supposedly the first team played the u23s last week in a friendly and it was very one sided

Decent game tonight. Entertaining but not the best defending. Mid-table but playing good stuff is probably the best outcome this season.
Was there a single Borough player who was here back in May?

If we could get George to stay that would be the best signing JB could make.
I'm sure he has a lot of offers from steps 2 and 3.
Get a team of young and ambitious players around him and let him play in his favoured position instead of moving him around the pitch everytime we have players out due to injuries.

As it’s now July, I believe we will see names filtering through as registrations start to happen. I’m hearing maybe by the end of the week. Previously we mentioned the following from Egham so will be intrigued to see if they sign;
Reece Yorke
Lonit Talla
Danny Campion
Stefan Powell
Tom Neale
Excellence Muhemba
Kyle Watson

Campion has committed back to Egham, so won't be signing.
If only the Southern league website listed who had registered for each club.
Trawling through twitter looking for familiar names and other clubs signings is at least keeping the brain active.

He is a player I would have back.
Going from our twitter feed of matches, the fact Excellence Muhemba is starting/scoring and being named on Twitter, might suggest he’s signed. Nobody else is named when scored, however this might be because the admin doesn’t actually know who it is.
Some good results so far. Billericay on Saturday will be the real test before two more games we would be ‘favourites’ in.

I wonder how different our recruitment would have been if we were in step 4. As all of our new players (from the list on the Southern League website) have come from lower divisions, it suggests they may have signed for us anyway even if we were in step 4. I'm personally all for signing some unproven young talent from lower divisions but there needs to be players that have that nous and know-how at this level too. Our new captain has that but how many others do?

I agree none of them seem inspired as such. Yorke as captain is experienced. Having said that, I believe that highlights and lineups of our friendlies so far are being kept under wraps so Totton/other teams can’t see what our team is like. Perhaps there will be a couple of experienced names come the 5th August.

You'd imagine that Totton will have someone at our final friendly on Saturday - as we should at their last PSF.
It does look like a very young nucleus that will hopefully be augmented when the season starts and a couple of experienced players who aren't starting for other clubs at step 3, decide that they would rather start games for us than sit on a bench for an extra £40 a game.
