Chesham Away
Views: 744
Very disappointing day all round. Started with a long queue to get in the ground. Two turnstiles open then lets have the idea to close one at 14.55 to make sure loads of fans missed the first ten minutes and the first goal. Then an abject performance from HBFC with absolutely no threat on the Chesham goal. A stroll in the park for Chesham who no doubt were the better team but it was painful to watch. 100% improvement needed for the game against Hanwell.

Thought you held us quite well for half hour (despite the two goals) but after that you started to try and chase the game in some hope of comeback and second half that allowed us to pick you off at will with space behind for Obi to run into
Presume you couldn't play Sinclair or Mfinda as part of their loans, thought Lucas might hurt us with his pace so happy to see him not in the starting XI
See you at Easter
PS. There was 3 turnstiles open yesterday, 2 at the top and 1 at the bottom

A woeful performance. Only one shot on target & that was straight at the keeper.

I don’t even recall the shot on target.
There were 3 turnstiles but it was awfully slow indeed.
Woeful performance. Mfinda and Sinclair will hopefully inject some life against Hanwell which is a must win. Typically they’ve found a couple of wins in a row to take them away from immediate danger. Would be nice to see where we could be with two winnable games in a row.
I don’t hold out much hope though. Another month of bad results and Jordan can start using the last 3 months as preparation for step 4 where we will probably find ourselves having an away league trip to Rayners Lane. How times are changing!!

I like Jordan but his recruitment was from Step 4 where we expected to be playing. I know it doesn’t do any good but if we had got a result away at Hendon last season when the ref bottled sending off their goalkeeper we would have prepared for Step 3 and Steve Baker might not have left.
The three ex-Borough players who went to Hendon looked good on Boxing Day and there was also Noel-Williams who was Step 3 standard.
I suspect the club would be happy to be in Step 4 but, being optimistic, Sinclair appears a good signing and our captain is definitely Step 3 material. Hanwell and Dorchester are now must win games. Let’s get behind the team.

This is how it looks to me, from the outside :
If the club would really be 'happy to be in step 4' they could have taken the relegation - and then spent the whole of this season trying to get back up into step 3, where they have the privilege of being this season
Instead, by a stroke of fate, they are spending the season at step 3 and trying desperately to stay at this level.
Believing step 4 would be where the Borough would be this season, the Board made a reasonable appointment of a new manager whose contacts were likely to be useful at step 4, only to find themselves unexpectedly at the higher level where the contact book and experience levels were somewhat exposed. The Borough ended up with a young manager keen to make his mark but inevitably at a disadvantage, with several players not quite of step 3 standard.
It's not surprising results have been disappointing, not just at Chesham, - but this isn't over yet !
I reckon nine clubs clubs are in danger of relegation and a couple of wins for the Borough would do wonders for confidence of the players and raise the spirits of the faithful fans. By chance, fellow strugglers Hanwell, Dorchester and Hayes/Yeading are all due to visit Earlsmead in January and none of them should be feeling that confident of taking the 3 points.
With those upcoming fixtures, it's down to the Harrow players to ensure that the club quickly gets out of the relegation places in January and then goes on to secure step 3 football again for next season.
With motivation and strong team spirit it CAN be done !
Good Luck for the rest of the season !

There was plenty of time before the start of the season to get in step 3 players. The problem was the budget was slashed and never restored.

A good assessment by Geemickey. It will be an achievement for Jordan to keep the team at step 3 and it is not impossible. However his motivational skills are going to be tested.
