I will go to the Oxhey Jets game tonight. If I recognise any players, I’ll let you know how they played

Well, I saw the second half (and the end of the first). There were a few familiar faces: Gurteen, Keegan Bloom and Mack Mislam, all full backs. Some of the newcomers were trying hard. Almost the whole team were replaced at half time. It’s very difficult to get an idea of how successful they are likely to be at Isthmian League level.

The team that started looked decent, albeit against a very Young looking step 6 side. The front 3 worked well and the lad who scored all 3 wasn’t Williams or Odumosu, who also seemed handy.
Bloom did really well down the right and seemed well liked by coaches and players. Gurteen was playing left side of central defence rather than left back.
McCorkell had very little to do in goal. Half time saw plenty of changes, mostly players who are unknown to me. Mack Miskin played on the left side and was his usual self. I think he will be useful at step 4, but the guy who started at left back was also very good.

Seen the website & Gurteen has signed.
That’s massive he is infact a CB & a bloody good one.
Dan Williams is a good start too.

Good to see the signings so far. Gurteen I believe is a good leader on the pitch.
The new goalkeeper seems to have a good pedigree. Hopefully good at both saves and dealing with crosses. I see we have also signed an experienced right back. Makes me wonder where Kegan Bloom will fit him. I do hope he is signed - was badly treated last season by our former manager IMO.
We also have signed a couple of proven goalscorers.
Very positive start and looking forward to hearing about other signings soon.

The experienced right back was actually in midfield. Keegan played right back and very well. Expect him in the squad this season.

I didn’t go to Tring and won’t be at Buckhurst this Saturday but I did go to the game vs Broadfields last night. They were a step up from Oxhey Jets in terms of quality for sure. We took a little longer to get into our flow but eventually did. Team was mostly the same without as many subs and a couple of rotations in starting positions.
Odumosu, Ifil, Williams and Miskin put us 4 up. By this point we had just changed our goalie from McCorkell to Messer. Things then got messy. We conceded 3, probably all 3 with Messer needing to do better and probably should have saved at least 2 with comfort.
Bloom looked great again, as did an unknown central defender who was tall, strong, quick and decent at other aspects too. I hope he’s signed. Jordan Hamilton-Olise looks great. He should make things happen whenever he has the ball.
Heard some murmurs about this Bostock guy which might throw a spanner in the works (from not much investment, to still being involved at Rayners Lane and even more so that he’s distanced himself from us altogether.) who knows. Let’s see what happens on that front.
