A pretty terrible performance. 3 awful awful goals to concede. The penalty was an easy one to give for the referee but I’m not sure how much contact there really was. All came from trying to play out the back. At times you’ve got to go Terry-esque and hit the channels. The plan was clearly to work it through the midfield but they didn’t do much to get themselves open and we’re certainly outnumbered. Hanworth had a good press but it was all too easy for them. We never really got our wing backs or midfields on the ball and facing forwards.

Udeh looks good for a physical long ball game. But that’s about it. Midfield could be improved with another body in there instead of 3 at the back. We gained nothing by doing that today. Instead of a straight swap at half time (Langley for Udeh - who looked annoyed to come on) another midfielder brought on would have been my preference.

Gurts is very passionate but wasn’t at his best. I thought he was a really good left back last season. I don’t think they’ll even consider it but moving him to left back and playing a 4 at the back might be worth a look. Miskin left midfield with bloom at right back. Pack the midfield with more energy and get a physical striker in.

It was an easy choice to leave Dennis and Nicolai in charge when BB left. Saved the club searching for a manager, paying money to someone else, a turnover of players and especially when the club were/are relatively safe from relegation. It was a win win. If they don’t do a good job it’s an easy move on in the summer. If they did well and got the team into the playoffs or even to just miss out, it’s wow okay they did well, they can continue. Unfortunately for them, I can’t see them being the main two in the dugout, come August 2025.

I think eyes should be on some potential candidates to come in next season. Hopefully someone with a bit of experience at this level to get us challenging for playoffs again next season.

Good post Harrowred.

Presumably we've got enough in us now to just bump along mid table "ish" for the rest of the season.
Can't see us doing much more than that and surely we've got to many points to get involved at the wrong end of the table .

Our lack of a player comfort the ball in midfield shows up everytime we play a quality side.
Earlier in the season we masked that by playing with pace & getting the ball in the channels or to forwards feet quickly.
Now it takes a dozen passes to reach the half way line. The opposition have so much time to get their shape that we have nowhere to go.

As for passing back to the keeper; a total shambles that Hanworth should have scored a couple more from.

We could steal another manager from Northwood. Meakin has been very interested before. Has anyone got uncle Alberts number for once he’s done at Walsall? I’d also take Steve Baker back but I doubt he would drop down to this level now.

Unfortunately I’ve not been able to get to matches as I’d hoped (Harefield last one) ☹️ but obviously trying to keep up to date with results & match reports.
I agree with everyone there has been a lack of midfield quality since day one & we did seem to rely on foot races in channels toget in behind teams at the start. And we’ve never found a goal scorer yet…even someone a division below banging in 20+ would do,

As for management I don’t think BB & Keags were good enough tactically & now have their work cut out implementing their vision at another club.
Unfortunately I don’t think Einstein could even work out their methods…so we’ve lost nowt there.
As for the new guy he seems to be ok - 3 wins 1draws 4 loses & against most teams shouting for play offs.
Based on that we’re due a good run in looking at our fixtures suggesting pretty much a 50% win ratio…..which anyone in any league would take, right.

As for new managers coming in unless you’ve got a great budget & a vast reliable group of players who won’t leave at the first sight of an extra tenner or the chance of stepping up a level your not going to get any better results or league position wise.

Why not stick with the new guy let him keep the best of what you’ve got & back him to give you the best season he can.
If by this time next year we’re in a similar league position then dependant on ambition & monies get someone to get promoted.

Let’s be honest, who would you keep to give you play offs possibly next season…
Bloom
Lamb
Hosier
Kai
Dennis ( apparently he’s magic)
Jenkins ( ex Chesham - Northwood)
Stewart (if he can get fitness back)
Gurteen
All certs & add in the 2 brothers Harry n Andy… chuck in Miskin away we go.

The new chap knows them all now & if he can bring in 3-4 midfielders 2-3 hard defenders 2 proper goal scorers add some experience to his managerial team…we’re laughing.

Give them a go at it see what they bring. Might be the other half of the successful Northwood squad from 2 seasons back…then we’d be loving life.

Up The Reds. We can do it.

Oh and if he get’s Harrow to lift the Cup….
