How’s it looking?

Not been able to get over for a while, but match reports & YouTube highlights kind of help.

Are we playing ok but just not scoring enough, every team makes blunders to ship goals but we don’t seem to score much.

What’s the end of season conclusions?
I can only draw on 1st half of season & reports:

Best match - Horndean home

Worst match - Rayners Lane away league

Best player (s) of current season - Gurteen

Players to keep - Bloom
H Mccorkell
Kai Olise
Jordan Hamilton
( would have said Sery Garnett Hosier Lamb )

Coaches to keep - you tell me apparently a great chap players like - good coaching staff

I haven't been to a single match but things are obviously going very badly.

If we don't make big changes for next season, we'll no doubt be in a relegation battle.

We need an experienced manager and coaching team for a start.

A new experienced manager is definitely required. Nothing against Dennis but his management experience expands to Ickenham FC in the lower levels of the Middx County League

From the limited games I've seen and match reports I've read we are going backwards fast.

The first time I thought something wasn't quite right was when we played Ashford in the New Year.
We were taken apart by a poor struggling team when we should have easily beaten them.
Since then there's been the odd flash of form but more often than not it's been very poor and if it continues I can only see a relegation struggle on our hands for next season.

I know we haven't got as much money as a lot of clubs even in this division but you can still run , tackle and head the ball and be quicker and more organised than we have been.
It will be interesting to see what happens in the summer.

What I would say though is that under the circumstances, I think the club made the right decision after the departure of Bukowski. It made sense to appoint Dennis as interim manager for the rest of the season to avoid a lot of disruption.

To be fair to Dennis, we were already in decline even before Bukowski left. I guess after the departure of Bukowski, the season had become a write off.

I hope the club are planning for next season and have candidates in mind they'd like to appoint as manager.

I totally agree that it was the right thing to do. It was a no lose situation. If Dennis turned it around, as you say, what he already been falling apart under Bukowski, then fantastic. We would have been in and around the playoffs and you then don’t have to conduct a full manager search. If it went wrong under Dennis, which I personally think it has, then it doesn’t matter. No threat of relegation. Can move on from a temp manager quite easily and also start a search for a new boss in good time. It’s a shame it’s the third off season in a row that it’s happening. The last 2 haven’t gone to plan. Let’s hope that doesn’t cloud judgements about removing Dennis and getting another boss in. A very loyal and patient board but if you’re sitting still, you’re going backwards. I hope they are proactive and conduct a full search. If Dennis wants to apply then so be it but he hasn’t shown enough (results wise, can’t speak for culture/behind the scenes work/budget management) in his trial to warrant being given the job full time.

The season has really petered out. Ben Bukowski made a great start, not just on results, but on how he interacted with the fan base. I was sorry to I see him go although presume he wanted to. It hasn’t worked out for him either.

Tbh Denis suffered from the loss of some key players and the replacements are not as good and results, and more importantly performances, have been poor. I honestly couldn’t see us getting another win after the Bagshot result. I don’t know Denis and he might be a wonderful man but he won’t be selected on results. Hopefully he will get it together in what remains of the season but given the current squad I am not optimistic.
