think TomCrawley / Tony Richards still take a lot of beating as a pairing
the one thing that they did not have on their side alas was youth
Tom should have been with us years before he arrived
remember him playing for Hinckley and Corby against us. just oozed quality
great header of the ball had perfect timing lacked real pace for higher
Tony was a master class striker at lower league levels ie Div 3/4 for Walsall
though he did play Div 2 ( championship ) with walsall, pretty sure
saw him a few times remember him at Notts County in a big promotion game 2-2
cant remember his strike partner though
County had Tony Hately up front and dont crucify me here his strike partner might have been
a certain Jeff Astle

off topic non Boro ; a striker for pure footballing class in his heyday Peter Osgood Chelsea
