but my point remains - its not black and white. Results and entertainment can go hand-in-hand.

Boro (and I admit many teams) have faced lower and lower attendances. I think typical now would be 400-500.
Getting those who have given up back will be hard, but harder to get new supporters.
I really cant see anyone coming to Liberty Way way in 2019/20* would say "that was fun; I must come back".

* There was so much I didn't like; not just on the pitch.

I suspect (no hard evidence) that many reasons to why Wilson left.

* Wilson vision was different to Thorn
* Wilson was not 100% committed and had other irons in the fire.
* Interference from Thorn.
* Thorne wanted a different manager.

Put those together, then results was a very convenient reason

WRT last point.

Do you not think its strange that Wright was not playing for (just managing) Corby (where owner lived) in a league below yet signed for boro as a player with a coaching role.
He played for about 20 mins (as sub at BPA IIRC) then within a few weeks he became manager.

PS - WRT Wilson - I initially loved the style of play I was seeing, but it became an obsession and stale. Shame.
I know many factors, but look at the team he put together (Byrne, Clifton, Whitehouse, Chettle, Morgan, Harewood, Daniels (controversial inclusion) and the likes of Ironside & Williams (who i didn't rate as much as others))......................Now compare :)
