Times have indeed changed.
In the early-mid 60s,Nuneaton Amateur League was one of the biggest in the Midlands. There were two divisions of 22 teams,possibly a reserve league too,fixtures were published on a seasonal basis and teams entered from across the country including Brum.
That's how communities (districts) operated in those days. Bermuda v Courtaulds. Nuneaton Co-op Sports v Ansley Social. Etc etc etc.
A community club is nothing new,it's just that communities (district identities) have disappeared into the Ether leaving only the big fish.
