Griff's ground may be an Athletics Stadium but we all love it. Since moving in there in 1999 the club have improved most things, a great barrier fence all round, Clubhouse extension and setting up a bar etc., new floodlights two years ago, an information tower, a Press Box from where speakers, music etc are controlled, new toilets, a 3g training pitch and for next season a new entrance block directly off the Stadium Car Park. As another club programme started this season, the ground is the envy of other clubs in the league. We also now jointly run it with the Harriers and have a lease of some 35 years. A recent FA ground survey said that it is only just short of two levels higher.
And for those who say the stand is too far away from the action have they never been higher up in a Premiership Stadium where the players look like dots running around?
I suspect some of the Boro criticism is to deflect attention from their own club's failings over the years!
I recognise that folks have different views and yes it would be better to be closer to the action but in life you make the best of what you have.
