Scarborough Athletic homeless again ?

I've not seen this mentioned anywhere, but Scarborough Athletic have had some devastating news regarding the relaying of our artificial pitch. In a story that resonates with Farsley's situation in our league this season, we will not have a playable pitch for 2025/26.

What should have been a straightforward close-season pitch replacement has turned into a potentially catastrophic situation whereby £3m of repair works to drainage and subsided land needs to be undertaken before the pitch can even be started. A survey suggests the initial works when the ground was built in 2017 were not to an appropriate standard, and this has resulted in real problems under the pitch. The pitch will not pass another FIFA inspection, and so we are without a home ground for 2025/26, with the council not likely to meet to discuss whether they will even fund the repair works until June.

For fans who have seen Scarborough FC die, and who groundshared at Bridlington for ten whole years before finally getting home and getting up to Step 2, this is heartbreaking news. The chairman has been on various media outlets in floods of tears trying to make sense of what has occured out of the blue.

Watch this space. It's going to be a traumatic year or so for the Seadogs.
