I'm sure you are right . But you know me. I've always been a bad loser. I lack your calmness and panoramic view of life. I'm too old now to change. I said a few bad word in front of my newly converted granddaughter yesterday and I had to apologise afterwards . She had turned as pink as her new Boro' bobble hat. I'm sure she's heard worse at school but it was a new side of her granddad which perhaps shocked her a little. In my defence I still think it's good to care. Especially in competitive sport.

I am philosophical reflective and over it this morning.

Histon really deserved to win. No sour grapes there. They weren't so much "better" than us-they were more effective and more organised. Their fans were ecstatic afterwards too. It obviously meant a lot more to them than just a fixture in the (now pretty tight) UCL and I can understand that given our respective histories. The scenes afterwards were verging on the embarrassing-but probably no worse than the Boro fans (me included) celebrating at Kirby Mucks last season.

The last two seasons have been really good to watch-its what has drawn many of us back and started us believing. Under You Know Who, I felt that the end was nigh and I had stopped attending even before he delivered the last few killer blows. The current style, standard of football and ethos has kept a few of us sane both last season and this one but yesterday was disappointing. I had perhaps forgotten how much disappointment hurts?
