What you say is right. I told anyone who listened ,when JG came into the club ,that it would not end well. The problem is that to most fans the 'Boro' is like family, or a beloved pet ,which at that time was not well. We wanted someone to make it better and the people running the club, including some involved in the new regime, like you say, saw JG as the man for the job. This was never likely to work because of his very limited abilities. The football served up during his tenure was some of the worst I had witnessed since supporting the club. He did not take criticism well, even if well intended , and bit back at anyone who questioned what was happening to the club , both on and off the pitch. I wish, in hindsight, that the club had been left to die rather than to endure the pain and suffering we were put through.
