Out of interest, I’ve been looking at how last season’s promoted teams have got on in the three NPL Regional Divisions this season. Of the 12 promoted teams, Redcar (already promoted) and Bury are top of their divisions, with Lower Breck in the playoff places. Bourne, St Neots and Blyth Town look like being relegated. Rugby Borough are close to the drop zone, as are Silsden. Shifnal, Lincoln Utd. Litchfield and Hallam are all mid-table. Lincoln, Bourne, St Neots and Rugby Borough were the promoted teams from the United Counties League last season. This indicates how difficult next season might be without significant additions to the squad. Incidentally, none of the sides likely to drop down from the Premier Div are midlands based. (You can tell it’s been a wet afternoon here! 😁)
